Pisces the Two Fishes – The Sign of Nothing and Everything:

This newsletter is about ambiguity – about great revelations and mass confusions – about expansion of consciousness and drugged dreams – about high hopes and grand disappointments; in short, about the history of the human experience of life on earth.

The ancient God, Neptune, who is the ruler of the sign of Pisces, is the deity who controls the seas, the weather, the great unpredictable storms, along with the marvelous ambiance and clarity felt while sailing the calm and embracing ocean in the best of times.

He controls the layers surrounding our psyches that dictate the “reality” in which we seem to exist; something like the Central Control of the aliens in the movie “The Matrix”. On the evil side of things, he is the global cartel of drug lords that makes billions of dollars addicting us and killing us. He is the self-appointed head of a cult who arms with weapons and promises its mentally enslaved members an exclusive form of salvation, until they die. He is the political autocrat who, while ruling a nation, spreads lies at every turn and invades a nearby nation. There is an ancient Buddhist warning: “If you see the Buddha on the road, slay him.” Vladimir Putin, the dictator of Russia, is an example of serial lying at every turn, as he sets his guns on taking over the Ukraine whose mineral resources are enormous, defy NATO, and re-establish the old Soviet Union’s dominance over Eastern Europe.

Then, there are the truly authentic Neptunians, with the gift of prophecies that contain blazing insights. In ancient Greece, Cassandra was given the gift of prophecy by the Sun God Apollo with a “hitch” attached – nobody would believe her! Thus, against her warnings, the Trojan War took place and her side lost.

Interestingly, now at this historic point, many of the warnings and predictions presented by seers from Nostradamus to Edger Cayce seem to be unfolding before our eyes. The problem with these great psychic prognostications is – we need to look clearly at their implications in what we call “the real world” in which our scientific instrumentation can observe and measure what may be unfolding. This includes historic human behaviors that have manifested before, when climate changes and resources for survival become scarce. The alternative is a tendency for people to “escape” into drugs, alcohol or even suicide, which we are, sadly, currently observing. This is a sure pathway to extinction.

The recent news released by global climate scientists is grim. They project that by 2050, nearly all coastal cities, including those in the US from New York City to San Francisco, will be flooded. The melting of the Antarctic glacier could raise ocean waters by four feet. Many island nations throughout the world will be under water. The Horn of Africa nations are already dried up and no longer habitable. Nations in the Middle East have lost most of their aquifers and crops are drying up. The Western United States is in the longest drought in 1200 years. Droughts are recurring, but this combined with man made global warning, the experts say, raises the severity by at least 40%. The recent acceleration of Winter storms, blizzards and floods and severe prolonged heat and fires in the West here in the US have reminded us that serious weather events are on the increase.

Winds of War:

The military invasion of Ukraine continues this month and NATO and the US have now imposed sanctions on Putin, personally and his access to the use of the global banking and financial system. Putin’s astrological chart (Oct. 7, 1952, 9:35 AM BGT, Leningrad, Russia) presents Neptune and Jupiter in Pisces square his part of fortune, is square his progressed Sun, and forms a Yod with his Pluto sextile Neptune/Mercury – all highly confusing, destabilizing and thus, a dangerous cocktail for irrational decisions. His Solar Arc Pluto is crossing his Scorpio Ascendant inconjunct his natal Moon. He sees himself as the reincarnation of a Russian Tzar, here to take over most of Eastern Europe and reunite the old Soviet Empire. He has already moved a lot of his money into safer places and has hidden gold assets. One thing that is a constant – he is delusional, mentally unstable, and lies at every turn.

Pres. Biden has announced that he and other nations are closing down the global banking system to Russia. Germany has announced they will sanction the new pipeline coming in from Russia. The NATO alliance has strengthened. Putin may have his “stash”, but his oligarch friends may not be so lucky. The Western world will be hit with more rising prices for oil and gas as the sanctions take place, further aggravating the already troublesome energy inflation hitting people. However, the US has the most natural gas in the world and plenty of oil. Biden will likely assist in refurbishing the infrastructure necessary to supply ourselves and other markets. Iran and the US are moving closer to renewing the nuclear agreement that former Pres. Trump dumped. If we release Iran oil back into the global market, it will lessen the hit Europe will take for the shutdown of Russian oil pipelines.

Saturn is moving into an opposition with Putin’s Pluto in his 10thHouse (rulership) trine his Neptune/Mercury in Libra (negotiation). The US and NATO need to figure out the right balance between “the carrot and the stick”. Another factor is that even though Putin is a dictator and has close to absolute power, there are other people surrounding him (the oil oligarchs) that may have something to say about Putin’s narcissism and power-mongering, and what this may cost Russia. In addition, the Russian people-at-large are against this invasion and major cities throughout Russia have staged huge protests. He may have stirred up enormous and meaningful opposition to his absolute power both at home and abroad. Ukrainian Pres. Zelensky and the young citizens of Ukraine are putting up a courageous fight and look impressive to the rest of the world.

Complexity Wrapped around confusion:

China and Russia through the years have been “frenemies” for a long time. Although China recently announced they are making deals with Russia, buying their oil and wheat, they also announced they do not necessarily approve of their moving their military forces into Ukraine. If Russia thinks China will help them borrow money, they are mistaken. China is in a major debt crisis of its own. However, we must not forget that China is in a similar situation with respect to Taiwan who they see as part of mainland China. Taiwan has been declared an independent nation and supported by the West and the US since WWII. This island nation has close economic ties with the US and manufactures most of our chip technology. As Russia invades the Ukraine, and the West is too weak in its response, China may finally consider invading Taiwan. To make the situation even murkier, India has long claimed Kashmir, a primarily Muslim territory which Pakistan claims belongs to them, is watching the West and may finally annex Kashmir as only belonging to them. These two nations are both armed with nuclear weapons. In recent years, they have made moves in this direction. All of this opens a giant can of worms in the world-at-large.

Transiting Uranus in Taurus is moving historically into the positions it was in when Hitler took over Austria and invaded Czechoslovakia in the 1930s. Putin’s megalomania resembles that of the dictators of that era. Two world wars were fought in the 20th Century involving oil, coal, and gas resources. Today’s nuclear weapons are so massively destructive, they defy description. The “big solution” – Nuclear Fusion – is being created and may be ready to go in a few years, but not fast enough. Meanwhile, history rhymes!

What will we do?

Until the civilized world adopts a “big solution to energy”, we will continually be enslaved by Russia and nations throughout the unstable monarchies and dictatorships in the Middle East. Fossil fuel will continue to warm up an Earth that has already been pushed to the edge of climate collapse. Here in the US, we will likely release restrictions on our own oil and gas corporations to be less dependent on foreign resources. Green, sustainable energy such as solar and windmill, realistically, cannot even approach the massive amount of energy that is needed here or anywhere. As this newsletter has been reporting for many years, Nuclear Fusion combined with and the perfect battery is the big solution. We are on our way there. The looming question is: will it be soon enough?

For the past twenty years, I have been reporting on the serious lack of cyber security in the US since we created the Internet without even considering that possibility. In recent years, we have observed the massive hacks and thefts on institutional systems throughout this nation and in other regions as well. With Venus and Mars going into Aquarius on March 6th(Mars will be there through April 14th, we will be aware of the possibility of a cyber war and will be taking measures to observe and prevent this. Both Russia and the US could simply shut down entire infrastructures with devastating consequences.

Pres. Biden, NATO, and the so-called “free world” will likely use diplomatic and economic tools to avert the worst of the worse, and much of what goes on will be kept highly secret. What goes on behind the scenes will be what counts.

The Supreme Court:

Pres. Biden has nominated highly credentialed 51 year old Judge Ketanji Brown-Jackson to the Supreme Court – the first African American woman to hold this office. This is another landmark decision in the area of equal rights.

The Economy:

After the first week of March, the financial markets in general, will tend to move upward, energy (gas and oil) inflation will continue to rise, the Feds will raise interest rates to a very small degree, but Wall Street will not tumble downward until between May 9th(Mercury goes retrograde) and May 16thwhen there is a Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio nearly opposite the one last November in Taurus. Even with higher interest rates, real estate will continue to rise in price. However, this Neptune economy will defy description and will likely move in so many directions, the prognosticators will constantly change their tune!

Science and Technology:

At this juncture, the COVID pandemic is subsiding in many parts of the world, thanks to effective vaccines and anti-viral medicines. I wish I could be more optimistic, but I do not think we are “out of the woods” yet. Omicron Subvariant BA.2 is emerging in poor nations that have less access to vaccines. Before we can feel more at ease, it will take us into 2023 to get things under control. The Special Issue, March 2022 of Scientific American, contains a lot of information – the good, the bad, and the ugly – surrounding this pandemic and the possibility of others to come. The positive part is the amazing progress in medicine that has been accelerated and holds promise for the future.

This newsletter is dedicated to finding big solutions to big problems that are presenting themselves to us in this historic era. As you all know, I believe Nuclear Fusion will end the age of fossil fuel and provide humanity with infinite amounts of clean sustainable energy. For those of you who are new to this idea, we found an article posted on https://phys.org/news/2022-02-sun-simulations.html published on March 2, 2021, entitled: “Nuclear Fusion: Building a star on Earth is hard, which is why we need better materials.” The author, Aneeqa Kahn reports: “Nuclear fusion is the process that powers the Sun and all other stars. During fusion, the nuclei of two atoms are brought close enough together that they fuse together, releasing huge amounts of energy. Replicating this process on Earth has the potential to deliver almost limitless electricity with virtually zero carbon emissions and greater safety, and without the same level of nuclear waste as fission. But building what is essentially a mini star on Earth and holding it together inside a reactor is not an easy task. It requires immense temperatures and pressures and extremely strong magnetic fields.” The report continues and it is worth reading the whole article that discusses the current obstacles as well as breakthroughs that are making this a reality.

Also recently reported, on www.wired.com, an article was posted entitled “DeepMind has Trained an AI to Control Nuclear Fusion.” They explain: “The inside of a tokamak – the doughnut -shaped vessel designed to contain a nuclear fusion reaction – presents a special kind of chaos. Hydrogen atoms are smashed together at unfathomably high temperatures, creating a whirling roiling plasma that’s hotter than the surface of the sun. Finding smart ways to control and confine that plasma will be key to unlocking the potential of nuclear fusion, which has been mooted the clean energy source of the future for decades. At this point, the science underlying fusion seems sound, so what remains is an engineering challenge. ‘We need to be able to heat this matter up and hold it together for long enough for us to take energy out of it.’ says Ambrogio Fasoli, director of the Swiss Plasma Center at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Sausanne, in Switzerland.”
They go on to explain: “That’s where DeepMind comes in. The artificial intelligence firm, backed by Google parent company Alphabet, has previously turned its hand to video games and protein folding, and has been working on a joint research project with the Swiss Plasma Center to develop an AI for controlling a nuclear fusion reaction.” This is an article worth reading in its entirety. There have also been reported some technological problems with the Fusion Chamber – ITER – in France that will have to be solved and may delay the progress at this site, which is financed by the European Union.
Last week, the TV show “60 Minutes” reported on a terrible weapon launched on American diplomats and people in government service known as “Havana Syndrome”. It was named after the first attack on our ambassador and his family stationed in Cuba. Other diplomats were attacked while in China and were sent home. They have now discerned that it is likely a microwave directed at the brains of these people that destroys their inner ear sense of balance, their memory capacities, and other serious damage to their neurological health. If they know who is behind this, the information has not been released, but the probability is that it is either Russia or China.

This is a WOW!:

The enormous looming crisis of giant glaciers cracking and melting at the Poles that will likely cause coastal cities all over the world to become submerged and uninhabitable, seems almost impossible to comprehend, let alone fix. That is, until I ran across an article on phys.org/news2022-radiative-cooling-ice-sunlight-iced.html . The article is entitled: “Radiative cooling: Protecting ice from melting under sunlight, from iced food to glaciers.”

They report: “Ice plays a significant role in many aspects of life, ranging from food preservation to ice supports and ecosystems, thereby providing incentive to protect ice from melting under sunlight. Fundamentally, ice melts under sunlight due to the imbalance of energy flow of incoming sunlight and outgoing thermal radiation. Radiative cooling can therefore balance the energy flows without energy consumption to sustainably protect ice. In a new report now published in ‘Science Advances’, Jinlei Li and a team of scientists in advanced microstructures, engineering, atmospheric sciences, and fine mechanics and physics, in China and the US., developed a hierarchically designed radiative cooling film using abundant and eco-friendly cellulose acetate molecules. The versatility of the materials provided effective and passive protection to ice in various forms and scales, under sunlight. The outcomes can effectively provide a scalable and tunable route to preserve ice and other critical elements of ecosystems.”

Final Thoughts:

Humans are an amazingly intelligent species that are severely limited by the tendency to cling to ancient beliefs that are highly limiting and, at worst, fatally false. We continue to selfishly battle one another which always leads us into wars and conflicts that, today, if we continue, would collapse civilization altogether. The nuclear and cyber weapons we have today will backfire on any nation that uses them. The old adage “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth” leaves everybody blind and toothless.

Is this the Dystopian reality the “gift” we wish to give to our children and grandchildren?

We need Neptune and Pisces to work for us in the best of all possible ways – that is clearing away the storms, the fog, the clouds and shine a light on the array of solutions that lie in an atmosphere of clear minds, open hearts, and a willingness to work together within the context of tolerance and loving kindness.

The constellations above can inspire us with a gift of prophecy we can all embrace together. History can teach us that the terrible mistakes of the past may come around again, but, this time, it can be different.

Let us wake up, come out of our collective coma, and live the change we wish to see in the world!
Blessings,

The Sabian Degree symbolism for the New Moon is: “Standing by a Campfire, a general outlines the tactical situation to his aid-de-camp and discusses the upcoming campaign.” The Sabian Symbolism for the Full Moon: “A Native American girl introduces her college boyfriend to the tribe. He gives a short speech and then cautiously responds to objections from his girlfriend’s mother.” Quoted from: “The Zodiac by Degrees” by Martin Goldsmith

2022 – The War of the Worlds Continues

Most would agree that the USA is currently the dominant economic and military power in the world today. China is seeking to challenge all this, but is running out of money to finance its military budget and it’s great electric train system slated to move through most of the Asian nations. Russia is scheming to undermine NATO, the EU, and the US to get back nations (The Ukraine) that were formerly in the Soviet Union. These two nations are currently forming an alliance similar to the one in the Cold War of the 20th Century against the power of the US. The world-at-large is dealing with the COVID pandemic and it’s latest mutation, Omicron, that is still spreading itself around populations throughout the globe.

In Africa alone, there are 21 basically failed states. In Central and South America, most nations are narco-states ruled mostly by the drug cartels. Syria is a nation devastated by its dictator, Assad, who presently works with localized war lords whose only economy is making and selling amphetamines. For the past decade, revolutions around the world have produced and strengthened dictatorships, threatening the very essence of the ideal of democracy. However, the most successful story lies in the European Union which has held together throughout the global crises with climate, energy, immigration, and economic uncertainty. Many are of the opinion that it has been led by Germany, who has recently had a peaceful transition from highly acclaimed Prime Minister Angela Merkel to Olaf Scholz.

Here in the US, many states are passing laws to prevent whole segments of their populations from voting at all and severely limit women’s reproductive rights. Already, the conservative wing of the Supreme Court has successfully upheld the Texas law restricting abortion. The ancient patriarchal and colonialist economic power systems are re-emerging with a vengeance. At the same time, equal time and equal status for women and people of color is presenting itself throughout the mass media. However, a massive economic canyon still exists between the billionaire/millionaire class and the rest of the nation. For the past 40 years, the US has become the biggest money-laundering nation in the world having dropped regulations, taxes, and any kind of rule of law for giant corporations. Companies have been able to outsource manufacturing overseas and insource cheap labor from abroad. An example of this kind of corruption is Purdue Pharma who got away with the manufacture and distribution of opioids all over our nation when they knew how highly addictive these drugs are. This has resulted in the loss of hundreds of thousands of lives.

The people of this nation are living in different “worlds” and they are colliding! A large percentage of the people feel truly alienated from most of society’s institutions, and for good reason. The monumental historic conjunction of Pluto, Jupiter and Saturn in Capricorn between Feb. and March of 2020 is still in effect. This configuration represents the great COVID pandemic and economic earthquake that has claimed over 800,000 lives in the US alone. It also signals a “fight to the death” between old and the new, the right and the left, and the challenge to institutional democracy itself. In February of 2022, Mercury, Venus, Mars and Pluto all transit Capricorn, reviving and enhancing all these issues. It is deja vu all over again!

Politics aside, the legislation that has passed and that which is being debated is an attempt from the Biden administration to correct the serious imbalances and hold criminal cartels responsible by reviving the rule of law and making them pay their share of taxes. Pres. Joe Biden is an elder (he is 79 years old) and cannot be “bribed” having had his career and no other motivation than making what he feels is an attempt to “save” this nation. I am concerned about his health between now and 2023.

The Transits:

The Saturn/Uranus square between Aquarius and Taurus magnified tensions throughout 2021, and still continues in 2022. Saturn’s placement in the democratic sign of Aquarius heralds the new age we have just entered and forces us to seriously examine what Aquarius really means and the responsibility to maintain friendship, teamwork, and civility. Taurus symbolizes both the system of money and the earth itself and whether we will destroy it or save it. Global climate catastrophes are now more frequent and more serious. Volcanoes are erupting in Japan, the Sandwich Islands, Indonesia, the Canary Islands, and Iceland.

This is the year transiting Pluto returns to the US natal Pluto, which, throughout human history, has coincided with nations and empires falling apart. Neptune is opposing our Natal Neptune in Virgo which questions the “work ethic” and how the workplace has to change. Saturn will go over our Natal Moon between now and early 2023 which often threatens our nation’s top leadership. This forms a challenge to our very existence as a nation, a democracy, and/or a global power. We have already, most recently, mourned the deaths of great American leaders from the “greatest generation”, including Colin Powell and Robert Dole, who helped us win WWII and emerge as the world’s greatest economy. Also, goodbye to former Majority Leader Senator Harry Reid and world celebrated leader of the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa, Desmond Tutu.

The transit of Neptune in Pisces ( 2012 – 2025) can represent a deep delusional sleep framed by religious or political cults – or a genuine yearning for a mass spiritual awakening. It also rules giant floods and tsunamis, that could represent another event similar to the Japanese earthquake and tsunami of March 2011. It also represents the great Arctic and Antarctic melts and rising of the oceans, submersing the coasts of many nations, including our own. 2022 brings us Jupiter transiting Pisces Dec. 29, 2021 – May 10, 2022 and again Oct 28 – Dec. 20 2022). It could point to more outbreaks and spreading of the virus. Since Jupiter represents expansion of consciousness into unlimited realms, it can also hasten our collective psyches into “escapism” through drugs, alcohol, or even suicide, which is an unfortunate trend already being observed. However, this transit could also present an opportunity for a great “healing” to take place that would come through a recognition that we are all of the same universal substance; therefore, that by wounding your neighbor, you wound yourself and, conversely, you heal your neighbor, you heal yourself.

Jupiter transits into Aries back and forth from May 11, 2022 through Oct. 28 (it goes back into late Pisces until Dec. 20) and then again from Dec. 20th through May 17, 2023. Aries is an optimistic, youthful, energetic sign that loves technological breakthroughs and going “where no man has gone before.” In addition, Aries is a sign that works cooperatively with Aquarius as we invent our way out of the energy and climate crises with a near perfect battery and nuclear fusion. More ventures into space and planetary travel and surveillance will emerge. We may make medical miracles happen connected with genetic engineering, neural and brain enhancements, robotic limbs, treatments for viral infections, and many other cures and treatments never before envisioned.

I have to mention an important transit to the US natal chart, and that is the transit of Mars in the sign of Gemini (war, conflict, lawlessness, police) which begins Aug. 20, 2022, retrogrades, Oct. 30, goes direct Jan. 12, 2023 and all the way through the sign March 24, 2023. The US chart contains Uranus (sudden upheavals or breakthroughs) in Gemini and a Mars in Gemini square our natal Neptune in Virgo. These degrees were activated in the Civil War, WW II and the Korean War. Chinese President Xi Jinping, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and former Pres. Donald Trump are all Geminis. We are having a mid-term election Nov. 8 under the shadow of a Lunar Eclipse in Taurus conjunct Uranus, opposition Mercury and square Saturn.. This will be an election that is stormy, disputed, will have technological glitches, and may even be delayed by storms and tornadoes in many locations. Gemini, an air sign, suggests more serious storms, tornadoes, and extremely high winds.

Science and Technology:

On Dec. 7, an article on OILPRICE by Alex Kimani entitled: “The Multi-Billion Dollar Start of a Nuclear Fusion Boom” was posted. He reports “But none has managed to inspire as much investor enthusiasm as Commonwealth Fusion Systems. The Massachusetts based fusion startup has just snagged more than $1.8 billion in the largest private investment for nuclear fusion yet from a plethora of big-name investors, including Microsoft Corp. co-founder Bill Gates, George Soros, and venture capitalist John Doerr. Commonwealth Fusion System is in good company. On Nov. 5, Helion energy announced that it had raised $500 million in its latest fundraising round, making it the second-largest-ever single fundraising round for a private fusion firm. Helion has a chance to surpass Commonwealth Fusion System since its latest round of funding includes an additional $1.7 billion tied to certain performance round that was oversubscribed, the company’s chief Executive Christofer Mowry has revealed.” As all my readers know, I have been reporting on nuclear fusion for several years and am of the opinion that this is one of the greatest inventions of this century.

A major event took place last month when the James Webb Space Telescope was launched. It took 25 years to construct at a cost of $10 Billion. This has been among the largest and most complicated engineering projects in history. We will now be able to observe the very origin of the universe that arose from from the “Big Bang.” We will be able to see other solar systems like ours, with planets like earth that could produce forms of life! This is one of humankind’s major achievements, propelling us into the Age of Aquarius.

The 2022 Eclipses:

Lilies that fester smell far worse than weeds.”

Sonnet 94 – William Shakespeare (1564 – 1616)

As all the crises, catastrophes, and breakthroughs are inundating our senses, we need to finally “get” the notion given to us by the very wise people through the centuries. This is the fact that we cannot expect “the world” to be at our feet – that success will simply come our way – that we will have smooth sailing throughout our lives. Most of the time, we make our own success, work to support ourselves, come together with friends and family to mutually assure our survival and happiness. We can simply “choose” to learn from every mistake, every obstacle, that the walls can come down if we learn how to remove them. Shakespeare knew that the richest, most talented, and most powerful people who betray civilization and “sell out” to corruption “smell far worse than weeds.” The humble weed and its honesty may be the survivor and, with the help of higher consciousness, live to create a better world.

When all this seems just too overwhelming, we need to remember the insight from the founders of the many great religions: “The Kingdom of God is within.” Our connection to the light of understanding leads us to the peace of knowing who we really are within the vast mind of eternity.

Blessings to you all in this New Year!

Sagittarius (ruled by Jupiter) the Optimist
versus
Capricorn (ruled by Saturn) the Pessimist:

Are we soaring into the Stratospheric Space Age or hitting the Wall?

Through the ages there have been a multitude of debates, arguments, dissents, and contests between the optimists and the pessimists about what the future holds. We in the astrological community are famous for our predictions of economic booms and busts; wars being waged and peace agreements being signed; pandemics and cures; and the rise and fall of nations.

My position is that the stars describe a “climate” which present us with an atmosphere that is either stormy or sunny. Within these stormy skies, we can either step up to the plate and rescue ourselves from the ascendancy of the dark forces or we can give in, give up, die out. When the sun comes out and things seem bright and cheery, we can makes the most of the time to create festivals promoting a fairer and better world or we can simply party all day and all night, exhausting our precious time and energy until we pass out and the floor comes up to meet us.

The times we inhabit at this point according to Saturn require us to “grow up”, gain a historic perspective gleaned from past mistakes, and summon a willingness to face political and scientific realities in this moment.

On the other hand, we must have enough Jupiter (optimism) to believe in our core capabilities and talents. Jupiter encourages us to believe in our genius to invent our way out of a multitude of crises. He also believes that from time to time, luck comes our way, and we “break the code” of the forces against us.

The Solar Eclipse on December 4th in Sagittarius is conjunct the Ascendant of the “Declaration” chart of the USA (July 4, 1776). This particular “Sabian” degree as described in “The Zodiac by Degrees” by Martin Goldsmith is presented as: “Seen against the orb of the Sun, the winged horse Pegasus flies over a battlefield.” This suggests a degree of transcendent optimism, a belief in doing great things, and/or deciding on a bold course of action. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the optimist who resides in the 8th House (economic power) conjunct the Sun in Cancer in the American chart and inconjunct (destabilizing) the Ascendant.

This month also presents the last Saturn/Uranus square which we have endured this past year that has “pushed” people to a level of frustration that is so profound we feel like we are having a collective nervous breakdown! Threats to our democracy, suppression of voter rights, authoritarianism, the spreading of lies, and hate mongering hang over our nation like a gathering storm. It was reported recently, that for the first time, drug overdoses in the US topped 100,000. Will our optimism that we can conquer anything, meet any challenge, soar ahead at breakneck speed and accomplish the impossible save us? Or will we “crash” into a wall of ignorance, fear, and lack of real preparation for the challenges that lie ahead?

The year that lies ahead is loaded with both opportunities and landmines. The coming Lunar Eclipse on May 16, 2022 is closely similar (in the same signs) as the recent Nov. 19 Eclipse. Election Day, Nov. 8th, 2022 presents another Lunar Eclipse in Taurus, showing serious conflicts with Mercury, Saturn and Uranus. This would suggest we will have another set of disputed election processes within the warring factions of both parties and delays in computing the results. I will further discuss next year’s planetary pictures in my January Newsletter.

The Economy:

With rising inflation, obstructed supply chains, and labor shortages within the lower wage jobs category, Americans are impatient for things to get back to pre-pandemic “normal”. People are upset about gas prices at the pump since only a small percentage of the public own electric vehicles. We are all aware of the human engineered climate catastrophes, past, present, and probable future, but still are consuming fossil fuels more than ever. In short, we are caught in the swamps of the past and struggling to move into a future that is, somehow, better.

No president, including Pres. Biden is actually responsible for all this since COVID is still with us. A new and highly contagious variant named Omicron, is at large, originating in So. Africa, and already appearing in Europe and parts of the US. Americans are disillusioned with the president and both political parties. The harsh truth is that nobody can “wave a magic wand” and fix all this. The good news is that we have a vaccination and treatment infrastructure in place we did not have in 2020.

We are being forced to see, more than ever, the “two economies” – even with the recent sell off in stocks (following the news about the new COVD variant), the billionaire class is getting richer. The infamous “One Percent” see a flourishing economy with “great fundamentals”. Yet, the other 90% are struggling to pay their rent, fill up their gas tanks, and pay the heat bill. To add even more complexity, many people are quitting their jobs, taking early retirements and causing significant labor shortages. Currently, millions of citizens are homeless, living in shelters and on the city streets.

Some people are starting new businesses from their homes now that they are set up to compute remotely. All this is changing the “nature of work” that I have been discussing in all my books and many newsletters. The news that is not really discussed on the media is that young people who are recent college graduates too frequently can’t get a decent job. With the exception of health care professions, and jobs paying a minimum wage on the farms, in restaurants or hotels, they cannot be assured employment. These same young people are saddled with hundreds of thousands of dollars of college loan debt, can’t afford the skyrocketing costs of housing, and many are still living at home with their parents. Most need to ask themselves: What will somebody pay me to do? Our whole education system needs to address this since our old obsolete system of education was devised in the 19th Century!

I do think that gas prices will come down next year and that some of the inflation will come down, but real estate will still be expensive. Interest rates will likely rise next year, but not by very much. If we look for a serious downturn on Wall Street, it will likely be in February, with its grouping of planets in Capricorn.

Science and Technology:

Colleges all over the nation are adding “crypto” technology to their courses. I have long felt that Bitcoin launched a currency with no backing that ostensibly is an investment but is more like a casino. However, its block chain technology would pave the way to a worldwide digital currency that will change the world’s economic and banking systems. We have already been ushered into a global digital payment system that will soon eliminate checks and even cash.

It was announced last month that Space X launched 53 Starlight satellites into orbit. So many satellites are going into space, we now have a “space garbage” problem. It seems where ever humans go, we create waste and pollution in our wake!

Nuclear Fusion: It was announced last month in the South China Morning Post, that Chinese scientists in Shanghai “strike gold” in a nuclear fusion breakthrough. They report: “The Scientists are firing powerful laser beam pulses at a tiny pair of gold cones with narrow ends which face each other and emit a plasma of hydrogen. The collision of these two hot gas streams achieved at precisely the right time and place, in the right manner, could result in nuclear fusion.” Apparently, three relatively successful tests have been conducted.

According to recent reports, South Korea’s Superconducting Tokamak advanced research chamber just “broke another record for fusion holding onto a churning whirlpool of 100 million degree plasma for a whole 30 seconds.”

It was also reported recently that the Laurence Livermore National Laboratory in California is about two thirds of the way to producing excess power with nuclear fusion.

The problem, in the last analysis, is the cost, which some estimate to be around $30 billion per site. There are those who propose that Elon Musk, with his professed commitment to saving the environment, could finance one of these sites, whose cost would be about 10% of his net worth. Musk recently sold about $7 billion in stock to pay off loans he took out to buy the stock plus pay taxes he owes. He says he will sell $10 billion more. The government could propose a tax break for him if he makes this investment. We shall see!

Other Nations:

Russia: The Belarus/Poland border conflict with migrants coming from Belarus into Poland that originated in the Middle East is a way Russia can engage in a conflict with the European Union which is, unfortunately caught in a quagmire because they need oil and gas from Russia. In addition, Russia blew up a satellite last month to test a potential weapon of war, creating a huge amount of space garbage. Topping all this off, the Ukraine’s Prime Minister has announced a plot to overthrow his government (a coup) instigated by Vladimir Putin. I have predicted in a number of newsletters that the period between now and 2023 will present serious conflicts between Russia and the US – as planetary pictures are similar to the time of the Cuban missile crisis in the 1960s and the collapse of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s. Putin is seeking more influence in the world and is getting his revenge on the US for its role in ending the Soviet Union in every way he can, including his influence behind online websites that helped get Trump elected in 2016. He and the oil oligarchs have bilked the Russian people for years. Like other dictators, he simply kills off all his opponents.

China: Last month, President Biden had a lengthy online meeting with President Xi. Biden walks a thin line between restoring some kind of normal relationship with China and showing military strength with regard to Taiwan and the South China Sea. They are deeply in debt and their largest real estate company just went bankrupt. Their currency, the Yuan, is not used internationally. What many people do not know, however, is that China holds large gold reserves. Most of us do know that they are the world’s biggest polluters which seriously effects their own air and water quality. In the paragraph above, I am reporting their progress in nuclear fusion. This demonstrates they are trying to end dependence on fossil fuel (they are still burning coal) but cannot currently stop using it. Pluto goes into Aquarius in 2025-26 that will evoke serious crises and changes in China’s government and economy.

In this era of upheaval and serious challenges concerning our very existence, Ruth Mendelson’s book: “The Water Tree Way” ushers us back in time to the innocent, yet wise child within all of us. This child takes the form of Jai – who has summoned the courage to take a spiritual journey into the magical secrets of the miracle of nature and all life on earth. Her saga may inspire us to push our skeptical adult aside. By listening to the core spiritual self, where all understanding resides, we may receive the strength and inspiration to restore life and love to our threatened planet.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going!

(The Sun, Mercury and Mars transit in SCORPIO)

Many of my readers are already shaking their heads since none of us want to experience escalating crises in our lives, in our nation, or in the world-at-large. Climate catastrophes, a global pandemic, volcanoes, earthquakes, failed states, mass migrations from parts of the world that no longer support life – all conspire to bring us to the brink of despair, even if we are fortunate enough to be living comfortably in a safe location, are in good health, and are able to pay our bills.

The best educated and most informed scientists frequently wonder if humanity will survive as a species since so many other species, reacting to a collapsing natural environment, are going extinct at a very rapid rate. Philosophers and those walking a more spiritual journey are struggling to reach beyond the present existential crises that we are confronting on all levels – for information, inspiration, and a larger picture of the road to higher consciousness where all things are possible. Most certainly, our present social and political environment brimming over with violence, hate, and a retreat into an alternative reality that reinforces this kind of paranoia, will conspire to destroy our civilization – and buy us a ticket to mass destruction.

Scorpio is a sign whose “business” is death and rebirth, destruction and reconstruction. It highlights and exposes how far the most powerful people will go to increase and protect their own wealth at a cost to nearly everyone else. The ruler of Scorpio, Pluto, the ancient God of the Underworld, is famous for making “Faustian” bargains with people – which includes offering enormous amounts of wealth along with an infinite number of personal pleasures, in exchange for their souls. The myth warns that he will exercise this right at the time of their death as he casts them down into the underworld – at which point these people may say: “OMG What have we done?” or “Can we get out of this?” Old Pluto, simply replies: “Tough!”

There is, however, another side to all this. What if we say “No” to Pluto’s proposal. What if we stare him in the face, have the guts to look squarely at each and every crisis, and proclaim: We are going to do whatever it takes to fix this!” Many people feel that “human nature” historically has always led to the collapse of nations and empires, genocidal massacres, devouring of resources, and failures of civilizations to rise to these challenges. However, I would point to the fact that there have been and still are many people of conscience who are using their knowledge and considerable abilities to come up with solutions, at a time in which we still have a choice: extinction or evolution.

President Joe Biden:

Birthday Chart – Nov. 20, 1942, 10:30 AM Eastern Wartime
Scranton, PA, 75W39 – 41N24

All my readers may recall that I commented back in 2020, that whoever won the presidential election would face the consequences of the worse inauguration chart I have ever seen. I also discussed the December 2020 Jupiter/Saturn conjunction in Aquarius that, historically, has frequently coincided with presidents confronting life or death crises while in office.

With former Pres. Trump still “contesting” the election results and a strong minority of citizens across the nation who still believe this and that resulted in the Jan. 6th insurgency storming the capital in Washington, it is no surprise that Pres. Biden has his work cut out for him. While I write this newsletter, nearly 730,00 people have lost their lives to COVID. Our democracy is threatened to an extent not seen since the Civil War. Paralleling our own crisis, autocratic governments are overthrowing democracies all over the world.

Climate catastrophes are sweeping the globe. Economic inequality is the worst since the Great Depression of the 1930s. We are now in an escalating Cold War with China and Russia. Most of this nation’s citizens wanted to get out of Afghanistan but are unhappy with the messy exit and the Taliban’s horrific takeover of the government there. The media launched massive criticisms of the Biden administration’s conducting of this project. Right-wing religious organizations are in bed with many state governments who are attempting to get rid of any woman’s right to an abortion, resulting in women protesting in capitals throughout the country. So far, The Supreme Court refuses to stop this. These same state governments are working to skew voter laws to eliminate voting rights for people who reside in low income areas and are mostly people of color. Many people are ready to overthrow the government rather than get a vaccine or wear a mask!

Pres. Biden’s whole life has been a story of personal and familial crises, deaths, losses, recoveries and comebacks. There is no realistic motivation for him to forge a personal political future at this point. His two major stimulus packages are currently where his efforts lie, along with creating a more democratic, more fair, and more economically equal opportunity environment. He is faced with not only Republicans who are obstructing everything he wants, but members of his own party that have strong connections to the corporate cartels and have serious difficulties getting along with each other. The Democrats are famous for “eating their own” while the Republicans stick together no matter how destructive the results may be. Winston Churchill famously commented that Democracy is impossible but the alternative is worse!

Interestingly, there have been two previous Scorpio presidents. One was Warren Harding, considered one of the worst presidents (The Teapot Dome Scandal of the 1920s). The other was Teddy Roosevelt, considered by many to be one of the best presidents (built the Panama Canal, busted the banking and corporate monopolies and created the national park system.)

What now?

The Lunar Eclipse on the 19th at 27 degrees Taurus involves Pres. Biden’s Sun the day before his birthday, highlighting the monumental efforts it is taking to get his agenda through both Houses. The lineup of the Sun, Mercury, and Mars in Scorpio square (in conflict) Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius resemble trying to drive a vehicle with your feet on the gas and the brakes at the same time. This is very accident prone and even explosive. There is a correction in course in December, relieving a lot of stress, especially on the so-called “debt ceiling”. However, we have a Solar Eclipse Dec. 4th right on the Ascendant of the USA opposite Uranus. This suggests intimations of war.

Two placements help Pres. Biden. One is the long term transit of Venus in Capricorn starting Nov. 5th, retrograde Dec. 18th, goes direct Jan. 28th, and goes all the way to a conjunction with Pluto the first week of March 2022, sextile his natal Sun. The second one is Pluto’s continuing sextile his Sun through March of 2023. However, in 2023, Saturn in Aquarius will square his Mercury and his Sun and Uranus that year will oppose his Mercury. This could endanger his health and safety. The only relief at that time will be Neptune (spiritual support) sextile his Sun.

All this highlights the ongoing war in the US between the role of the power of the government vs the control of the monopoly banking and corporate cartel. If all money had been taken out of political campaigns, this would be an honest contest with the possibility of achieving a balance between the interests of the people-at-large and those of the billionaire class. The Supreme Court’s ruling in 2010 in the Citizens United Case, literally disbanded all previous campaign finance reform legislation, ruling any and all money coming into campaigns as “freedom of speech.”

Biden’s huge legislative packages are ostensibly paid for by the millionaire and billionaire class, increasing their taxes and clamping down on their “offshoring” of their profits, evading taxation altogether. He has succeeded in getting a coalition of nations to tax all the businesses there 15%, eliminating, somewhat, the offshoring of profits. Recently we have become aware that South Dakota has become a tax haven here in the US for the billionaire class. Biden has become the focus of the battle of the Titans.

In addition to all this, Biden is positioned right in middle of a great effort of the “far right” to end the US as a democratic republic. By denying the well documented 2020 election defeating Trump, and storming the legislature in Jan. 6th of 2021, there are millions of Americans who would prefer a dictator around which they could form a “cult” giving them the go-ahead to manipulate the results of elections and deny large groups of people their right to vote at all. They have used this movement to refuse programs that would enforce masking or vaccinations during the biggest global pandemic in this century and even accuse the scientists and doctors of conspiring to poison or kill the population.

I predicted in multiple newsletters and in all three of my books that this is a time likely to bring about a “second American Revolution” or a disestablishment of the establishment. The US Pluto is returning to its natal position in 2022, Neptune is opposing its natal Neptune, and Saturn will go over its natal Moon in 2023. The stage is set for these challenges since, for decades, there has been an expanding economy for the very rich and a contracting economy for everyone else. Liberalization around race and the LGBTQ movements have threatened social “norms” resulting in a conservative backlash. Climate catastrophes, the elephant in every room, are hitting all over the world. Prices for fossil fuel have skyrocketed as its use escalates and demand rises. Our failure to switch to green energy is now costing us dearly. Nuclear fusion, the “Holy Grail” that would solve these serious problems has been neglected by reporters in the media. Thankfully, it is moving ahead in spite of all this.

The activation of ancient racial hatreds combined with historical revelations of a past slavery economy and genocidal massacres of native populations has stirred up the white supremacists. Just as immigrants are fleeing nations whose states have collapsed into corruption and rule of drug cartels and whose natural environment no longer supports agriculture, we are overwhelmed by the sheer numbers crossing our national borders. This crisis has confronted US presidents for decades. Obama, Trump and Biden have all tried to stem the tide and have “clamped down” without much success. Forces beyond them are at work here. The Trump ascendancy is a symptom of a huge and growing national dissent and polarization that has been brewing exponentially for over 40 years.

To top it all off, we are recovering from the greatest pandemic of this century, that has given birth to possibly the biggest economic shakeup of our times. The question remains whether this Scorpio president will help us heal and rise again from a multitude of crises, or whether he will preside over the end of this nation’s unity and cohesiveness altogether. Stay tuned!

The Economy:

We have seen a rise in oil and gas prices as more people come back to work and school following the pandemic, and OPEC can get away with it. The US leads the world in natural gas supplies, but many states have outlawed “fracking” which contributes to escalating gas prices. These oil hikes are led by Saudi Arabia and Russia who are the oil giants. Those of us who are seniors remember the oil crisis of the 1970s due to the revolution in Iran. As all my readers know, I believe that hydrogen nuclear fusion will end the age of fossil fuel, clean up the environment, and supply us with infinite amounts of energy with no pollution. Could we all imagine not only an energy revolution, but an end to massive global struggles and terrible wars over mineral deposits?

The jam-up of supply chains, a work force struggling to return, increasing wages, all point to price inflation. The stay-at-home- pandemic has given many people time to think. Many younger workers are reassessing their fates of being worked to death, underpaid, living in an employment environment that hurts rather than helps their families. Years ago, I predicted that fewer people would work for large companies and more young people would wish to start their own businesses. This has evolved into the “gig” economy, with mixed results. This notion will work if these people are trained with skills in the “trades” and are able to navigate the constantly changing landscape of technology.

If the big packages pass in Congress (I think they will, but way under the $3 Trillion package), more government money will be coming into the economy, especially for infrastructure and education. I think the second week of November will see selling on Wall Street, but recoveries toward the end of the month into December. There are so many contradictions in the information we will be getting, confusion will be the order of the day. The Nov. 19th Eclipse in Taurus highlights the high price of real estate and how the very wealthy are buying up properties, escalating prices (even new builds) to rent out at high prices. This is a “bubble” of monumental proportions which is what happens when a nation’s wealth is concentrated within the billionaire class.

The New Cold War:

The influence of both China and Russia in the world competing with the US for power and influence in the world will be highlighted this month, as their charts are activated by the Scorpio transits. The exposing of ransomware cyber attacks and hacks, China’s push to take over Taiwan, will be in the headlines, as will problems that are increasing within these nations themselves who are controlled by dictatorships. The US has pledged to protect Taiwan’s independence since 1949. American companies have made a huge mistake and that is to make most of their chips and semiconductors there, making the stakes very high. China has announced it is now testing hypersonic nuclear missiles, a technology the US already has. Both nations are warning each other of their military might.

Science and Technology:

In the October Issue of Scientific American, there is an article entitled “The Unseen Universe” by Marcela Carena. “An experiment called Muon g-2 at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Illinois measured excessive wobbling by particles called muons. These findings suggest new particles or forces beyond those in the Standard Model of particle physics may be involved.” Discoveries about how little we really know about the universe, since about 95% of reality is referred to as “dark matter” that we are currently only able to study in relation to the tiny percentage of reality we can see, demonstrate our ongoing revolution against previously held convictions about the nature of reality. In this same issue, an article by Anil Ananthaswamy entitled “The Artificial Physicist” announces that “A machine-learning system is making shocking progress at the frontiers of experimental quantum physics.” These articles are worth reading in their totality.

Last month, Captain Kirk (William Shatner), age 90 years, went into outer space in Jeff Bezos’s rocket. He was quite eloquent in describing the experience. The backlash is that many feel that all the money spent to make this happen could be put to better use.

Last month, the New York Times announced that new private capital is going into nuclear fusion in response to rising oil and gas prices and global climate emergencies. Those of you who read this newsletter know I have been reporting on the growth of this technology for years!

Mother Nature:

For some reason, the media has given minimal coverage about the volcano erupting in Iceland, Mt. Aso in Japan, and the most powerful one on La Palma in the Canary Islands. The terrible earthquake in Haiti following a government coup is the reason so many are trying to get into the US. Recently, there was a 3.9 earthquake in the Los Angeles area. As I have reported in recent newsletters, the ongoing transit of Pluto in Capricorn plus current transits in Scorpio tend to correspond with more earthquake and volcanic activity.

An article in the same as above Oct. Issue of Scientific America was published entitled “Alaska Burning” by Randi Jandt and Alison York. It reports: “On June 5, 2019, lightning from an unusually early Spring thunderstorm ignited a blaze deep inside the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge in south-central Alaska. High temperatures at the end of May had reversed a wet spring and quickly dried out the forest floor. The resulting Swan Lake Fire, about five miles northeast of Sterling, spread relentlessly for a month as the extraordinarily warm weather continued. By July 9 more than 99,000 acres had burned and more than 400 people were fighting the flames. On August 17 high winds changed the fire’s direction, causing numerous evacuations. The wind also downed power lines that sparked the fire’s direction, causing numerous evacuations. The wind also downed power lines that sparked new fires, including the Deshka Landing Fire and the fast-moving McKinnley Fire, which engulfed more than 1340 homes, businesses, and outbuildings. Fortunately no one died. ”This is a reality we have to face all the way up to the Arctic Circle that is currently engulfed in a “great melt.”

This is what we are facing now and for years to come.

Better news, is that the astrology of the Scorpio transits points to increasing precipitation that began last month may help to put out some of the California fires between now and December.

Final Thoughts:

“O look, look in the mirror,
O look in your distress;
Life remains a blessing
Although you cannot bless.

O stand, stand at the window
As the tears scald and start;
You shall love your crooked neighbor
With your crooked heart.”
from “As I Walked Out One Evening” by W. H. Auden

We are all alive together here on earth, residing in a magnificent but delicately balanced ecosystem. Human civilizations and their leaders have made decisions that are bringing to pass changes in this biosphere that may threaten all our lives. We all want to govern ourselves and change things for the better, but we don’t appear to want to take the responsibility. We remain a selfish, short-sighted species, subject to all the corporate product ads hitting our eyeballs reminding us that we “deserve” to buy and consume at will. We continue to look to “cult” leaders or autocrats who convince us they will “save” us from our enemies and solve all our problems. Many of us get “hooked” on drugs or alcohol, or simply give up altogether and land on the streets.

Then there are those who look to science; who practice critical thinking and intelligent debate and who truly wish to work together. But, they seem to be not loud enough, not sexy enough, not rich enough. Then, there are the cynics who believe we are doomed and deserve to die out altogether. We seem to live in an age in which our worst failings are constantly discussed; whose wounds are publicly exposed and get high “ratings” on television, but very few who inspire us to greater realms.

I think we must decide to love each other and ourselves, even though we are broken and flawed. We must care about each other in the face of our failures, penetrating to truths that lie beyond our “crooked hearts”. Knowing our limitations and confessing our mistakes may help us escape “the death penalty” and throw ourselves on the mercy of the court of justice we ourselves have created.

There are millions of good people who reside here among us, devoted to caring for each other and life on earth, creating new solutions to ancient problems, who have a vision of a new humanity that surpasses all current expectations, not only in science, but in the fulfillment of the promise of a human race that reaches beyond its own history to create an evolutionary leap into greatness.

We may yet fulfill the prophecy that “The Lion shall lie down with the Lamb” and “There will be no more war.”

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!

Blessings,

The Libra Dilemma – Making a Decision:

The sign of Libra, ruled by Venus, governs the 7th House of partnership whose “domain” is (marriage), legal contracts, diplomatic relations, fairness, equality, and justice. Libra, like the season it represents, is positioned between life and death – as the Summer’s harvest is taken in and earth’s foliage turns into exquisite color before it dies, or simply descends into its roots underground until the Spring. Thus, symbolically, making decisions takes on an aura of grave importance.

Since Libra people are concerned with fairness and proper negotiation with persons who are often on opposite sides of an issue, they are “plagued” with time constraints involved in making a decision, feeling pushed and afraid they will make the “wrong” decision, and are at heir best when “the Law” makes the choice for them. They are often charming and attractive (Venus) and sometimes use their “charm factor” to postpone coming down one way or another, for or against – until people around them want to leave the negotiation altogether!

The struggles this month between the planets Mercury and Mars in Libra, ultimately forming squares (conflicts) with Pluto (the powerful) in Capricorn clearly demonstrate political warfare between women’s reproductive rights (Venus) and the self-appointed “Evangelical Christians” that we saw with the Texas antiabortion law last month that expanded to penalize anyone who assisted the women looking for the procedure performed over the six week limit.. The Supreme Court did not rule that this was “illegal”, thus encouraging other right-wing states to pass similar legislation and expect the Court to support them. This has resulted in women’s rights movements demonstrating in the streets throughout the US. My take is that the voter turnout in state legislature elections will be what wins the day, and that will take time. This month will increase the intensity.

There are also many “conservative” states controlled by Republican legislatures that will be pushing through laws making it harder for people to vote, as was done in Texas. This most effects people of color, minorities and poorer people, keeping them from voting for candidates who would represent their interests. The COVD pandemic is sweeping these States that have more un-vaccinated people. The virus will continue to infect thousands of people this month, through the end of the year. I see a small improvement in the outbreak in 2022.

The struggles in Congress around the big Biden infrastructure bills is illustrative of the Libra dilemma. The progressives in the Democratic Party are in an “all or nothing” mode. The fact is that compromise will be necessary to get this done and they must come together to do it.

This legislation will still be on the table this month until Mercury and Jupiter go direct on the 17th – 18th. I think there will be a positive momentum to pass something around this time, along with the US Budget “lifting of the ceiling”, which Sen. Mitch McConnell, once again, is threatening to hold up.

I predicted in last month’s newsletter that the Roberts Court would be active and making numerous rulings that will likely demonstrate the conservative nature of this court. Decisions from this Court will be highlighted this month through early November.

The Economy:

The Mercury retrograde square Pluto Sep. 26th through Oct. 2, and again Nov. 1 – 2, is bearish. We may have a sell-off early in the month and somewhat of an upswing around the 18th, when Mercury goes direct sextile Venus. However, Venus is square Neptune on the 26th creating an aura of uncertainty. We are now being confronted with members of the Federal Reserve Board being accused of “insider trading”. Corruption throughout the system is being exposed. Interest rates will remain low for now. Markets will be in an upswing around the 18th.

Interestingly, this very obstructive Mercury retrograde square Pluto points us to the significant election in Germany. There was no clear majority, so a coalition government has to be formed and Prime Minister Angela Merkel will stay in her position until early next year. Merkel is considered to be an outstanding leader who has been in office for four terms. She has a Doctorate in Quantum Chemistry in addition to her extensive experience a head-of-state. She will be difficult to replace.

Mars is inconjunct (destabilizing) Uranus (technology) on the 5th. There is a lot of furor around Bitcoin and all the other “coins” as to their legitimacy as currency or legal tender. China has officially “outlawed” Bitcoin. Mercury is also inconjunct Uranus back and forth between the 12th and the 24th. This transit of Uranus in Taurus (money, banking, property) went into this sign May 2018 and will be there until July 2025. Our entire banking system and currency usage is in the process of going digital. The block chain technology used by Bitcoin, which is nearly hack-proof, will make this possible. Once again, however, vulnerabilities to “hacking” into data bases will emerge.

Immigration:

In all my books, I have predicted that we would enter an era of mass migrations from around the world of a magnitude never seen before, overwhelming the nations receiving them. Neptune in Pisces points to climate changes consisting of droughts, flooding, heating, and conditions collapsing economies in nations that have few or no resources to combat these changes. Among the nations at most risk are Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, multiple nations in Central and So. America, and multiple African nations. This includes Afghanistan. People are fleeing for their lives.

Recently, the US has been presented with thousands of Haitians on top of the already monumental number of people trying to cross our border from Central and South America., overwhelming our resources. This is on top of those coming in from Central and So. America and many brought in from Afghanistan. We have been talking endlessly about immigration reform for decades without any essential agreements that would create and pass legislation from the political parties. These crises will will continue again this month through the end of this year.

The Biden administration will do whatever it can within its executive power. Earlier on, he appointed VP Kamala Harris to address this issue, who seems to survey the issue, act outraged, and offers no policy solution. His administration has taken multiple “hits”, including for the messy end to the Afghanistan War and treatment of Haitians at the border. I think it has moved and will continually move toward limiting access. The fact is: we simply do not have the resources, or the framework of legislation to address this enormous crisis.

COVID:

This amplified crisis is, quite simply, the result of people refusing to be vaccinated and, in many regions, refusing to be masked. The US has moved away, over the past 50 years, from accepting mandates from any and all “central authorities” no matter what the scientific facts are. Sadly, the issue has also become “politicized.” Fear and paranoia of loss of freedom in a broad sense are effecting people’s judgment and leading to severe illness and death. It has also caused a spreading of the disease throughout the nation. Only about 55% of US citizens have been vaccinated. The last report was that 675,000 Americans have died of the virus. On top of everything else, China, where the virus originated, has closed the doors to continuing the information coming from the investigation of the pandemic’s origin.

This is a very tough issue for astrologers to address since there are many planetary pictures pointing to contagious illness. Neptune’s transit in Pisces until 2026 aligns with previous outbreaks of “the Plague” in past centuries. Too much of the world’s population lives in subsistence poverty and has little access to vaccines or remedies. I am concerned about the gathering of planets in Capricorn that will conjunct Pluto between Feb. and March of 2022, reactivating the great conjunction and Lunar Eclipse of Jan. 2020 under which the whole thing began.

However, on the optimistic side, we have developed a science and technology that points to cures never seen before in previous human history. Success will be incremental. Things will gradually improve, but will depend upon all of us to follow a pathway to true freedom – freedom from this disease.

Mother Nature and Weather:

The first week of this month, retrograde Mercury is square Pluto, pointing to severe storms, once again, targeting the Atlantic. Last month, a huge volcano erupted on the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands, which will continue this month. I have forecast this era as a volcanic cycle in past newsletters.

Science and Technology

Most of my readers know so well that I am a proponent of nuclear fusion. Many people think this usage is decades away from being viable, and I have gone on record to disagree. I happen to think this is the solution to climate catastrophes and the need for massive amounts of energy, available to nations everywhere. As an astrologer, my target year for this to go online around the world is 2026.

Last month, an article was posted in September on “The Hill” by Paul Dabbar, entitled “Fusion breakthrough dawns as era for US energy and industry.” He reports: “The fusion age is upon us. This week, a major breakthrough was achieved in key technology for commercial fusion power, and very likely sets up the first ever net-energy-out -fusion plant being commissioned four years from today.” He goes on to suggest “Everyone in the energy industry, policy makers, academia and labs should take note that we are at the dawn of a new energy revolution.” He explains “In fusion, two hydrogen atoms fuse, which liberates energy for power and helium, which is not a challenging product for the environment. Both nuclear and fusion do not emit carbon or any other gas emissions. And both nuclear and fusion have advantages over wind, solar, and other non-emitting energy types, given you can produce large amounts of energy in very small land footprints that can be located anywhere, and can run every hour of every day.

The author continues: “Commonwealth Fusion Systems (“CFS”) a Cambridge, Mass. headquartered Massachusetts Institute of Technology spinout, made the breakthrough announcement. CFS has ben focusing on developing a fusion plant based on the most researched fusion design, called tokamak, which uses powerful magnets to provide the magnetic containment for the fusion reaction. The core challenge for fusion is making a magnetic field strong enough to contain the reaction, while also generating more energy from the reaction than it takes to run the magnets.” He reports “CFS has been focusing on jumping magnet technologies historically used for fusion plants. They announced that they have successfully fabricated a full, plant-sized magnet with high temperature superconductor (“ HTS”) material. This magnet operates at a magnetic field strength significantly higher than current technologies, and is one hundred times larger than previous HTS magnets. And using this material means that power needed to produce the field is very low, compared to other materials, CFS and much of the fusion community have confidence that this magnet will very likely allow the DFS plant being built in Massachusetts to be the world’s first net-energy-out fusion plant. This means we will, for the first time, be able to generate more energy from the fusion reaction than it takes to generate the containment. And the higher magnetic field allows for a much smaller reactor than current nuclear plants, or the ITER fusion facility in France, allowing for much more manageable, cheaper and lower risk construction. In addition to CFS, it is likely that other fusion companies could also be close to achievements, including TAE Technologies, Canada’s General Fusion and others.”

My attention has been directed to this most important area for many years, as planets are marching forward in Aquarius – an age of invention that may surpass all others. Fossil fuel use has decimated the global climate and polluted the earth and its oceans (plastic – a derivative of oil). Its use has made us slaves to oil and gas economies here and in the Middle East and Russia, leading to price hikes, multiple military confrontations and unholy alliances. Right now, China is militarily controlling parts of the South China Sea, and other areas in the Pacific so they have more access to undersea oil. This puts them into a direct confrontation with Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Southeast Asia, and the US for control of that region, with whom Pres. Biden has recently met. Following this, France removed their ambassador to the US because the US replaced their submarines that they had previouly contractually sold to Australia. This is just one example of the clash of foreign powers, including all regions surrounding the Persian Gulf.

Infinite energy that can be produced in sites anywhere, gives off no pollution, has no catastrophic problems if it shuts down, and no longer makes us subject to oil nations raising prices leading to economic crises here and abroad, will truly change the direction of human civilization.

This is the next “big thing!”

Final Thoughts:

“All time is unredeemable.
What might have been is an abstraction
Remaining in perpetual possibility
Only in a world of speculation.
What might have been and what has been
Point to one end, which is always present.”

‘The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock’
T. S. Eliot

We are all living and struggling together contained within a frame of time that challenges humanity in so many ways. It seems every crisis is converging at this critical point – a global pandemic, economic inequalities, regional wars, and climate catastrophes that threaten to subsume every other issue. The ruling global elites are currently demonstrating a colossal insensitivity to the fates of the rest of humanity. On top of it all, we are confronted with much of this on the Nightly News, whether we wish to deal with it or not. It is a dark gathering of storms that make the predictions of Nostradamus seem tame!

I am reminded, however, that nothing great has ever been accomplished when things were easy. Lower forms of consciousness repeating historic mistakes will not survive in a time when we must be more intelligent, more caring, and wiser than at any other time in human history. This is how evolution operates. We live in the perpetual present, a quantum world where all things are possible.

The eternal, timeless question lies before us. What will we choose?

Blessings to you all,

(Mercury in Libra (August 30 – November 5) with the New Moon in Virgo and the Full Moon in Pisces.)

“Liberty and Justice for All”

Organization vs. Fragmentation:

The “sign” of Libra is strongly associated with justice, the rule of law, fairness and balance. This would bring us to the making of laws (the Congress), enforcement of the law (police and local courts), and the interpretation of the law (The Supreme Court). Mercury, the great communicator, transiting this sign through Nov. 5, will be testing all of us during this time, when the Supreme Court will be hearing cases that will decide on the validity of the law in certain cases and what comprises “liberty and justice” in the Constitution.

The New Moon in Virgo (organization and precision ) trine Uranus (inventions and clarity of purpose) followed by the Full Moon in Pisces opposite Neptune (fragmentation and disillusion) – will make it hard for Mercury to decide what it wants to do, let alone what it wants to say! Pisces contains bits and pieces of everything. Thus, it either puts the pieces of the puzzle together, or simply throws everything away and prepares to start all over again. This is what confronts the people of Afghanistan at this moment in time – how to assimilate the fragments!

The fact is that our society here in the US is not comprised of equality, fairness, or justice. Where you are in the scheme of these things depends basically on your personal wealth. Money not only talks – it determines where you live, if you can vote (since many states are now restricting voters’ rights), if you can afford decent representation in the courts, if you can have access to decent healthcare, and, whether we like or do not like, your “status” in society. The “Gods” of ancient times have been replaced by billionaires, CEOs, professional athletes, and media stars – all those who are very very rich.

There is nothing wrong with having great ideas, working hard, and succeeding beyond your dreams! The best part of Capitalism is that it gives people a “shot” at a decent life and an opportunity to invest in something that could benefit the investor and the company. A balance (Libra) between entreprenureal capitalism and social safety nets and infrastructure (Aquarius) for all could benefit our nation as a whole. That is not what we have now. We have a billionaire class that manipulates the banking system, the stock market, our legislators, our media, and, most of all, pays little or no tax to help finance the public support systems. They are reminiscent of the royal De Medicis, who ruthlessly controlled most of the economies (the Church, the kings, and the banks) in Europe during the Renaissance.

Where are we now?

The public response to all these challenges over the past 40 years has seemed to move away from realism and into fantasy. Those who should be held accountable for all of this (the billionaire financial cartel) are ignored and many groups have descended into “blaming” people of color, differing religions, ethnic groups and political persuasions.

We have very close to a likely “miracle” vaccine program for the greatest pandemic in modern history financed by two presidents, and we have people refusing the vaccine, refusing masking to protect themselves and others, and, instead threatening and harassing people who are wearing masks for themselves and their children going back to school and into public places. Demonizing the government, the pharmaceutical companies and the doctors are symptomatic of a generalized distrust of any and all central authority. This response, to a degree, is understandable, since so many of our institutions have “sold out” the people-at-large in favor of lining their own pockets at all cost. Now, when our institutions are actually pulling themselves together to rescue us, a sizable number of people are refusing the help that is absolutely necessary. They are instead descending into hate mongering and revolutionary terrorizing of the system. They would rather “burn down the house” than rebuild it. Climate catastrophes are now overwhelming people’s resources, both physical and psychological – resulting in drug overdoses, suicides, people with guns wildly shooting people in public places, and various tragic behaviors.

This month, there will be challenges before the Supreme Court (Libra) to decide about laws states are passing to limit voters’ rights. When Saturn entered Libra back in 2010, the famous “Citizens United” case decided by the Court unleashed the legal right to make unlimited financial contributions into political parties’ elections – referring to the money as “freedom of speech.” Mercury in Libra goes retrograde square Pluto in Capricorn on Sept. 26th that could be deja vu all over again! The question will bring up, once again, whether or not we are a Democracy or a Plutocracy.

The Economy:

The longest bubble stock market in history will take a few punctures this month, especially the first week of the month under Mars opposition Neptune and the last week of the month with the Mercury retrograde square Pluto, but will be unlikely to collapse. There is no longer a relationship between all the crises that effect people in general, and what goes on in Wall Street. Some version of a second huge infrastructure bill will likely pass when both Mercury and Jupiter go direct after Oct. 17th.

Between the 21st and 22nd, Venus (currency) will oppose Uranus pointing to another giant “hack” along with some kind of crisis with the value of Bitcoin. There is a current conflict in the financial world between those concerned about serious inflation and those who say the infrastructure legislation being passed covers its costs and is spread out over the next 10 years. This is a very complex argument. A lot is happening now that has nothing to do with the infrastructure packages. Climate change is impacting food chains. Oil companies arbitrarily raise gas prices whenever they can get away with it. Trade restrictions on China limit the influx of chips, raising prices in everything to cars to cell phones to computers. We have a labor shortage of so-called “essential workers”. None of these price increases has to do with the legislation passing at this time. It needs to be noted that the huge demand for Bitcoin has caused them to burn and use large amounts of coal in order to supply the enormous amounts of electricity in order to create it.

Afghanistan:

I am using the chart for the abolition of the monarchy published in “The Book of World Horoscopes” by Nicholas Campion: July 17, 1973, 00:00 AM LZT, Kabul, Afghanistan.

This nation has defied all other nations and empires who have tried to conquer it, for hundreds of years. Those who “lost” this effort include Alexander the Great of Greece, the Roman Empire, The British Empire, and more recently, the now defunct USSR and, of course, the US. The dominance of The Taliban, an army that sees itself as an enforcer of a version of fundamentalist Islam that was in vogue in the 11th Century, have been fighting each other and other tribal divisions, even now including ISIS. These tribal entities for aeons have fragmented and tormented this country, killing and or enslaving each other and everybody else. Their treatment of women has historically been one of male ownership, just above the level of farm animals.

The chaos that has ensued from the US evacuating Americans, Afghans who helped Americans, soldiers who fought side by side with Americans, and translators is no surprise. Once this process is complete, this nation, with Pluto opposed its Sun, Saturn conjunct its Jupiter/Moon and square its ascendant, transiting Neptune square its Natal Saturn for the next three years, and Solar Arc Neptune opposing its Sun for three years, points to a tragic disintegration of this nation.

Billions of dollars have gone into building this nation’s present infrastructure that will now be withdrawn. There is potential for the mining of minerals, but the nation lacks an infrastructure for this. Its only economy is based on growing poppies and selling heroin globally. Even this industry will likely go down since they are in the middle of a catastrophic drought. Surrounding nations such as Pakistan, Iran, China and Russia do not want to get into nation building or financing anything there. The Taliban are getting their weapons somewhere, but they will soon be without the necessary financial resources to pay for them. I do not think the Taliban will be able to hold onto its central control. Multiple terror groups will likely try to organize, but will run into other terror groups who will fight them. There are no “winners” here.

Science and Technology:

You all know, by this time, that I am closely following the fast growing technological advancement surrounding nuclear fusion. I am of the opinion that this is the “next great thing” that could present us with infinite energy with no environmental destruction.

On July 20, 2021, an article was posted on EE/Times entitled: “Helion Energy Achieves Key Fusion Milestone” by Maurizio Di Paolo Emilio. The articles reports: “Helion’s fusion electricity generators are compact, use small amounts of fuel, and can run 24/7. Therefore, one of the key benefits of Helion’s power facilities is that they can directly plug into existing transmission infrastructure and replace current fossil-fuel based power generation without significant investment in additional infrastructure. Grid-level transmission infrastructure is a requirement of large-scale, gigawatt-class power associated with traditional fusion approaches,’ said the Helion rep. The article goes on to explain: “Fusion aims to provide abundant and reliable basic energy solution to meet the world’s growing energy needs. Climate change is one of the world’s most challenging and pressing challenges, and the new energy technologies are needed to answer the climate crisis. From Helion’s perspective, the climate crisis needs a breakthrough and renewables can no longer be the primary source of energy production. As energy needs become more widespread, fusion can provide and abundant and reliable basic energy solution.” Another advantage to this form of energy is reported in the article. “Fusion is an abundant source of zero-carbon baseload power, but unlike fission, fusion cannot produce a runaway chain reaction. If something goes wrong, fusion simply stops. Fusion also does not produce any long-term waste and cannot be weaponized.”

Other fusion projects are also forging ahead. The Livermore Laboratory in California is refining how ignition is produced and making it less awkward to implement.

It was recently announced in “Sustainable Energy” in an article by Anmar Frangoul, posted Aug. 19th, “World’s first fossil-free steel produced in Sweden and delivered to Volvo.”The author reports:“ The news represents the latest development for the Hybrit project, which was set up on 2016 and is owned by SSAB, energy firm Vattenfall and LKAB, a mining and minerals group. Both Vaytytenfall and LKAB are owned by the Swedish state. The idea underpinning Hybrit is to use ‘100% fossil-free hydrogen’ rather than coal and coke in steel production.” The elephant in the room with all the electric cars, solar panels, windmills and other “green innovations” is that the amount of fossil fuel it takes to manufacture all this deposits huge amounts of greenhouse gasses into the environment.
This development, using hydrogen instead, would solve the problem. I call this a “wow!”

Weather and Natural Events:

I am concerned about severe storms September 1 through 3 with Mars opposition Neptune. However, the greater concern is the Mercury square Pluto September 22 through September 30, in the sign of Libra which has corresponded with mega hurricanes in the Atlantic and on the US East Coast in the past. The question is, are we prepared?

I would avoid air travel until Mercury goes direct, is well aspected, and Jupiter goes direct on Oct. 18.

Final Thoughts:

“If all good people were clever,

And all clever people were good,

The world would be nicer than ever

We thought that it possibly could.

But somehow, ‘tis seldom or never

That the two hit it off as they should;

For the good are so harsh to the clever,

The clever so rude to the good.
”Elizabeth Wordsworth English Poet

What a world we might create if we could gather together in a spirit of mutual respect; if we would listen carefully to those with the opposite opinion; if we could look at the legacy of history and the discoveries of science. This would represent an honest attempt to find what is good and true and join hands together to bridge the gaps, mend all the breaks, and heal all the wounds we have inflicted on ourselves and our living planet.

Liberty and justice in no way includes the “freedom” to infect each other, wound each other, and kill each other. The COVID virus does not care what political party we joined, what religion we profess, what kind of education we have, how much money we have in our portfolio, or how long we have served in Congress. Masks and vaccinations could protect most of us until this terrible pandemic “runs its course” and it no longer threatens the whole of humanity. Cleaning up our planet, leaving the Age of Fossil Fuel, tending our fields and forests with care, and living sustainably may save all life on earth from extinction.

There are times in history when “We the People” need to throw off narcissistic childish and hateful behaviors and simply grow up – act like adults for a change. A culture of caring for one another,, intelligent debate, and willingness to invest in what benefits us all could change the trajectory into a future that we could, hopefully, navigate together.

This is what will ultimately “set us free.”

Blessings,

“To argue with a person who has renounced reason is like administering medicine to the dead.”

Thomas Paine

Leo Meets Virgo – Meant for each other!

As the Sun transits through Leo… Venus, Mars and Mercury are marching through Virgo whose planetary collection will oppose Neptune, thus obscuring the Leo August sunshine with scary weather and concerns about the still active pandemic throughout the world.

If only these two signs would get together, Leo’s optimism about solutions to the world’s problems combined with Virgo’s intelligence and vigilance, we could get things done. Leo is convincing… is a master of “show business”… speaks with authority. Virgo is the master of “work” and workers rights… has the facts… surveys every detail… and thoroughly investigates everything about health remedies – both traditional and non traditional. If you do not wish to face the current existential issues, you will not want to have a conversation with Virgo. The Delta virus is spreading. People who are refusing the vaccine are becoming ill, being hospitalized, and dying. Virgo wants some answers.

This month’s transits bring us into focus with some important questions… Do we wish to ignore the truth, escape from reality, pretend to live in a self created bubble of childlike games? Or do we want to know the cold hard facts so we can make clear decisions and live another day? This is hard to discern since our perceptions differ and old beliefs often get in the way. The New Moon square Uranus on Aug. 8 is a notable “wake up call.”

The Economy:

As I posted in last month’s newsletter, there would be serious concerns about Japan’s hosting of The Olympics due to the pandemic. They officially announced in July that they would have the games but would keep the public out, which is a severe economic blow to this country’s investments. However, this is likely a sound decision since the planets transiting Virgo could signal more spreading of the virus. Their current vaccination program has only reached 20% – 30% of their population. Japan is still trying to “fix” the Fukushima nuclear crisis – using robots to repair the still “hot” undersea chambers, which is costing them billions. Their low birth rate, increasingly aging population, energy costs – all conspire to hurt this nation’s struggling economy. In addition, the Japanese islands are right on top of one of the hottest tectonic areas in the world!

Financial markets will be uncertain about where they want to go this month and will likely be selling on the 9th and the 24th. They will, however, be likely to rise on the 11th and the 25th. The only way you make money outside of your salary today is in stocks and/or real estate, since the Feds continue to keep interest rates historically low. Just as last month, the markets will rise and fall connected with the spread of the virus. Virgo is more “realistic” about where to put its money and traders will look for good long term investments. Companies engaged in “Crisper” or gene slicing technologies may be a good long term investment, along with other innovative pharmaceutical corporations. In contrast to this, Perdue Pharmaceutical which has declared bankruptcy, paid out billions in compensation from lawsuits last month for their making and mass distributing of opioids, leading to public addiction to these drugs and thousands of overdose deaths. More information will come out this month. Big Pharma will be criticized and talks in Washington will surface about stricter regulations.

A book that is creating “waves” was published last month entitled: “An Ugly Truth.” It surveys the recent history of Facebook and its practices which includes the philosophy of “profits at any cost”. The author pointed out that between 2016 and 2020, Facebook allowed posts designed around lies, hate mongering, and political posturing pushing Trump’s discredited conspiracy theories, including posts since credited to the Russians who were pledged to help Trump get elected. They quoted people who had worked for Facebook whose opinions were that CEO Marc Zuckerberg’s amoral philosophy was making big bucks rather than taking responsibility to discern the truth. As a nation, we need to look at this as much more than a problem for Facebook only, and how it has directed the actions of corporations and billionaires across the landscape of our economy for the past forty years.

As all of you who are my regular readers know, I am of the opinion that Nuclear Fusion could be the Holy Grail of massive energy production and distribution with no pollution. One of the issues with moving forward with this technology is how it would impact the economy if the current oil and gas corporations went “out of business”. This is why these same entities should consider getting into the fusion business, as sites are getting “ignition” and infrastructures are being designed. Some of them are already getting into solar panels and windmills. We cannot afford to lose time! Our livable climates are collapsing.

There is a very interesting article posted on King World News July 12th entitled The Coming Gold Based Monetary System Will Have Some Surprises” by Dr. Stephen Leeb. He traces gold fluctuations since Nixon took us off the gold standard in the early 1970s, the manipulation of gold as a commodity by the big banks, (JP Morgan Chase has been caught doing this and fined) and the massive government and private debt that has been accumulated that now exceeds our gross national product. He points out that the dollar as a reserve global currency is in trouble and the only reason this has not changed is that everyone else is in worse trouble. He reminds us that China’s yuan trades only in China, and that they are currently testing a digital yuan using block chain technology. Ultimately, it does not benefit them to continue the current trade war with the US. He thinks a new world reserve currency is inevitable that may be based on a basket of currencies backed, once again, by gold. It is worth your while to read the whole article.

China has recently outlawed Bitcoin. I think that, as stated above, China will steal Bitcoin block chain technology to create their own currency that, in the future, could potentially become part of a global basket of all digital currencies. We are on the road in the US to eliminating cash and going all digital. This is a prediction I have made in previous newsletters. Last month, President Biden announced that the Chinese paid hackers to invade our systems in a massive ransomware cyberattack primarily on Microsoft and that this assessment has been confirmed by NATO. Meanwhile, under the Biden administration, we will be continuing to put sanctions on trade with China, bringing tech manufacturing back into the US and increasing employment due to congruent investments in infrastructure. Republicans will eventually relent due to the jobs that will be coming into their states.

Politics:

The transits in Virgo, especially Mars that is in this sign until September 14, form extremely tense angles to the planets in Donald Trump’s chart. There are sites on the internet that claim Trump will be “reinstated” in office in August. This will not happen. Virgo transits in the US chart form tense aspects with the Uranus in Gemini and the Mars in Gemini square Neptune. The big Pluto and Uranus transits in Virgo in the 1960s saw the Civil Rights Revolution and the Anti-Vietnam War demonstrations. I would expect large demonstrations and rebellions throughout the country. Meanwhile, the pandemic surge in infections will continue to grow.

Pres. Biden got us out of Afghanistan, in spite of protests from former Pres. George W. Bush and former General Patraeus. The present military budget expenses comprise about 57% of the US budget. Most Americans do not want to fight endless wars and continue to pay for them.

Other nations:

Haiti: Last month saw the assassination of the nation’s Prime Minister and initiated a coup and a civil war. Their chart: Jan. 1, 1804, 12:00 PM LMT, Gonaives, Haiti, points to severe instabilities and temporary governance until April 2023, when transiting Uranus is trine their Mercury and Neptune is trine their Neptune. This island nation is a tragic legacy of slavery, colonial occupation, political corruption, and tectonic instability.

Cuba: Last month, a new “revolution” came together against the present Communist government. Their chart: Jan. 2, 1959, Havana, Cuba, shows upheavals and a possible shift into a more democratic government that is just beginning. Saturn in Aquarius will hit their Mars/Uranus square Feb./March of 2022. Saturn/Neptune square hit this in 1962/63 coinciding with the Cuban/Russian/US confrontation when JFK was president. Pres. Biden will walk a “tightrope” here by looking for a viable way to support the rebels without getting involved in a real war or “nation building”.

Israel: The transit of Saturn in Aquarius through 2023 will point to a major reorganization of this nation and change in its governance. It’s chart, May 15, 1948, 00:00 AM Tel Aviv, Israel, is being hit by Uranus in Taurus (land and territory) square Saturn in Aquarius (governance and democracy). This nation, as are the nations that surround it, is being hit by global warming and massive drought. There will be an array of crises not only connected to the use of lands, the conflicts with Palestinians, and construction, but the control and management of water.

North Korea: Their chart– September 10, 1948, 12:00 PM, Pyongyang, No. Korea – is being hit by Mars, Venus and Mercury in Virgo this month, stirring up crises around the pandemic and shaking up its leadership.

South Africa: This nation’s already high economic inequality was pushed beyond the limit during the recent pandemic. Their chart (May 10, 1994, 10:19 AM, Pretoria, So. Africa) that was reformed under the leadership of Nelson Mandela, with such high hopes, has not lived up to these expectations since it has not substantially increased education and work opportunities for the masses. Last month, citizens protested and, unfortunately, robbed and looted the cities. Pluto has hit their Uranus (rebellions) sextile their Neptune (oil and gas) while Neptune is trine and sextile their Lunar Nodes pointing to their only economy being based on their mineral resources. These resources are controlled by corrupt administrations and the economic interests of the West. Uranus (revolution) is nearing their Moon. When Saturn in Aquarius is square their Sun/Moon conjunction in Taurus, and will trine their Venus in Feb. 2022, substantial changes will take place.

Weather & Natural Events:

Virgo transits are “dry”, even though storms on the East Coast will surge on the 19th and 24th due to oppositions to Neptune. Earthquakes and volcanic eruptions will likely increase. The Western US is in the midst of the largest drought in its recorded history. Forest fires are increasing in California and Oregon beyond historic records. Weather will be even more extreme this month. Water will be increasingly scarce in the Southwest. Scientists have warned us for decades about the effects of global warming and the loss of water reserves. In spite of this, we have also mindlessly depleted underground aquifers for decades whose reserves are now down to nearly nothing. A new “Dust Bowl” reminiscent of the 1930s is forming in these regions. Western Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands have been hit with the worst flooding in over 100 years.

In Spite of all the publicity around the “Green Revolution”, China continues to be the biggest producer of greenhouse gases in the world, followed closely by India. Here in the US, Pres. Biden is still renewing permits to oil and gas corporations simply because our economy would collapse without them. The amount of fossil fuel it takes to “make” all the solar panels and electric vehicles is pumping more warming into the atmosphere. Global climate emergencies will likely increase exponentially.

We all know that the gravitational pull of the Moon pulls ocean water in its direction. From year to year, as the Moon “wobbles”, it alters its position relative to earth in an 18.6 year cycle, causing low tides to rise and high tides to get bigger. The next big cycle after this one will be in the mid 2030s. If the great melt at the poles continues and we continue to produce greenhouse gases, earth’s climate may become unsustainable to human life.

Science and Technology:

Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos have launched themselves into space, their ventures being self financed since they are both billionaires. We need to remember that NASA is not part of the military and is a hybrid, financed partly by the government and partly by corporations. If we look at ventures into space as leading to the ability to mine minerals from asteroids and Mars as opposed to earth and, perhaps, coming up with solutions to the ecological disasters we have created, we can look forward to their financing by both private corporations and governments as a unified effort.

In the July Issue of Scientific American, pp 28, an article by Rowan Jacobsen entitled “Life New and Improved” reports scientists “used custom-crafted proteins to create a promising new COVID inoculation. It waves a vulnerable part of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in front of immune system cells, provoking a strong neutralizing response. He goes on to report – “the new COVID Vaccine shown here is a 3-D model, was built around a synthetic protein nanoparticle and designed to create powerful immune protection.” The article emphasizes that scientists learning to create artificial proteins could revolutionize biology. This is one of the many breakthroughs in medicine and biology promised to us in this new Aquarius Age. There will be more!

‘

Another article in this same issue is entitled “How Dirt Could Help Save the Planet”, pp 64, by Jo Handelsman reports how: ”framing practices that retain carbon in the soil, or return it there, would limit both erosion and climate change.” This is a fascinating article outlining in detail how: “Photosynthetic carbon fixation removes carbon dioxide from the air, anchoring it in planet material that can be sequestered in soil. This process reduces atmospheric greenhouse gases and reduces soil erosion by enriching soil with carbon that feeds hungry microbes that produce sticky substances, which in turn bind soil particles into clumps that are less vulnerable to movement by wind and water.”

A third article in this publication that addresses possible solutions for climate change is entitled: “The Carbon Rocks of Oman” by Douglas Fox. It reports: “Mountains of mantle rocks that are usually many kilometers below ground are exposed across Oman and interact with the air, turning carbon dioxide into stone,” This is another amazing revelation that, among many others, could halt climate catastrophe and save our planet.

Good news! The Hubble Space Telescope that has shown us most what we know about the universe, has been “fixed.” There were great concerns that it would not be able to continue and those concerns, for the time being, have been put to rest.

Final Thoughts:

“Truth itself is the only unifying factor on earth. We are separated from love with others to the same degree that we are separated from Reality. We are in communion with others to the same degree as our closeness to Reality.”

Vernon Howard

I often hear people commenting about how “human nature” remains the same, no matter how many centuries pass, nations come and go, people rise and fall creating and destroying – just as they always have. The difference today as that there are too many of us – and we have created problems that seem too big to solve. With contagious disease and subsistence poverty rampant while global climate emergencies are emerging exponentially, it would seem we are marching forward to extinction. Worse still, too many of us are denying the truths that are rising before us to be faced and examined together. Too many of us would rather live in an isolated fantasy world, huddling together with others who agree.

As we reach a critical point in human history, an “evolutionary leap” in intelligence may present itself, similar to the one between 5,000 to 6,000 years ago when civilizations arose out of wandering hunter-gatherer human tribes. Climate, as it has before, will determine where we live on our planet and how we establish new civilizations, forms of governance, and ways of life. It will require venturing into higher levels of awareness and understanding and a social and spiritual wisdom previously only understood by a few. It will require us to come out of our self-induced trances and look at reality in the light of day.

And this could – finally – be our most terrifying experience, our most courageous step, and our only hope!

Blessings,

Note: for those of you using mobile phones use URL: soothesayer.com/july-2021/

The Summer of Childhood’s End:

Venus and Mars are transiting fiery Leo while the Sun moves through Leo July 23 through August 22. In the Western hemisphere, this brings with it the joys of the Summertime, sporting events, hiking, camping, swimming, and playing. It favors the self expression of the young – the fine arts, music, theater, romantic encounters, youthful rebellions, risk-taking, feeling invulnerable, and holding onto an overpowering belief that “everything will work out.” Youthful Leos love to “be in charge” – to go where they want to go, get what they want to get, and mate with whom they wish to mate. They wish to “rule” themselves, and not necessarily anybody else. Their theatrical dramatic entrances and exits entrance their audiences. Many actors and “stars” are born with Leo planets in their charts. They do not worry about the consequences. However, the world they live in today was formulated and set up by older generations with unprecedented challenges within the scope of human history.

Pluto’s transit in Capricorn (2008 – 2024) has a completely different point of view. He is all about “consequences”, fear of deprivation, the long haul, those of advanced age and experience, and obtaining a sense of “security”. He is frequently represented by people who hold concentrations of wealth and power, and who impose their collective will on those who are unschooled, inexperienced, and basically broke. Capricorn presents itself as the persons who have worked hard to position themselves among the authorities and who have “paid their dues”. At their best, these people are highly successful and wish to share their information with others and better their societies. They have earned respect and admiration. At their worst, they will manipulate the system to hold onto their wealth and power at any cost, whether they hold a prominent position in governments or reside in the billionaire class of bankers and CEOs. Their ruler, Saturn, who “naturally” resides in the 10th House of Career and Recognition will hold on to this position at all cost. Many astrologers see this sign as the true sign of “royalty” whose position “entitles” them to the real estate at the top of the ladder.

Neptune’s current transit in the sign of Pisces (2012 – 2026) may be many things, but is also “none of the above. He takes pride in being nebulous, capable of nothing and everything, and, when in an ecstatic state, peers into the heart and soul of the universe itself. He is not concerned with “status” or recognition, but is more connected to inspiration. With his two fish swimming in opposite directions, he is familiar with Heaven and Hell, and understands the territories of both. He is the “last” sign of the Zodiac – in which the ice melts and the world is deluged by the Great Flood. His sensitivity may lead him into grand hoaxes, religious cults, and he may even abuse alcohol and drugs to escape the burdens of life itself. If he resists these dark temptations, he may access information and happiness that await him at the highest and brightest levels of wisdom and understanding.

What Now?

Decisions made by older generations (Capricorn) who have held power within governments and corporate giants have created economies whose money has moved to the top of food chain, depriving younger generations (Leo) of access to a shared prosperity and a faith in their future. The birth rates in the industrialized world have dropped; marriage has been postponed; wages compared to profits and stock prices have fallen; job security is a distant memory; health care costs have risen; college loans have plunged young people into long term debt; and the human created climate crisis effecting the entire planet has created an existential uncertainty that may be devastating to many intelligent well informed young people whose fate on earth is now in question.

Former Pres. Trump (Leo rising) will be making appearances this month everywhere he can and will continue to rant and rage against the “system”, all the while up against indictments of his business and colleagues. Pres. Biden and the Democrats are trying to pass infrastructure and voting rights bills. They have recently announced some success in this endeavor, but with Mercury square Neptune on July 8 and opposition Pluto on the 25th of this month, they still have conflicts ahead.

This Summer’s extreme heat, drought and fires will sweep the Western US with no solutions in sight. We will no longer be able to ignore fresh water shortages throughout these regions. The first week of July will present another “infrastructure failure” as Mars forms a T-Square with the Saturn Uranus square and another “hacking crisis” with Mercury square Neptune and there is a generally accident prone environment. Last month’s collapse of a condo complex in Florida reminds us what needs to be done. Ocean waters are rising and will continue to have a severe flooding effect on Florida, leaching into areas inland as well as the coast. Climate scientists have been warning us for decades that glacier melting would raise the sea levels and Florida is already battling seawater rising on its beaches. I would expect this is, in part, the reason for this collapse. Unfortunately, we will likely see more of these emergencies. Currently, people seem to be moving to the most threatened areas in both the Southeast and Southwest. Within the next decade, there will be movements of families inland and to the North.

Too many of our cherished young people are escaping into drugs and alcohol (Pisces) or religious affiliations based on ancient racial and tribal hatreds organized around the “blame game” – rather than looking clearly at the challenges we all face together and must unite in order to solve. They have lost faith in our society’s institutions. Many “escape” into political and religious cults. A record number of young people have either died of drug overdoses or committed suicide. They sometimes simply “lose it – and go on shooting sprees in public places, a fate we have been witnessing as gun violence has escalated this past year.

All these historic trends will be in the forefront this month and beyond. Realizations will dawn and many of the young people will find pathways to make the necessary changes. The timeline for this great “shift” in consciousness is between now and 2026. Those nations and people whose climate is devastated will lose millions of lives even though there will be many immigrating to other locations. We will become aware that all the excitement about embarking to Mars and riding around in space will not fix our own planet – the only place we can live, that supports biological life as we know it. Fish are currently going extinct in our polluted oceans and waterways – a prelude to what is to come – until we stop fighting each other and, instead, come together, collecting and implementing big solutions to big problems. I think we have a shot at correcting our course.

The Economy:

There is a lot of talk out there with respect to inflation, which is certainly taking place. The big bubble in the real estate market continues, mainly because interest rates will remain low for the time being and Federal Reserve Chair Powell continues to “assure” us that inflation is temporary. The stock market is following suit. Both personal and government debt is expanding. Food prices have escalated because climate changes have dried up crops, reducing the food supply. Gas prices went up because OPEC raised the price of oil, a pipeline went down a couple of months ago that has been restored, and gas prices generally go up during the summer months. Leo is an “optimist” and will likely keep the “bubble” expanding. For investors thinking a little outside the box, I would look into investing in metals such as rare earths, copper and aluminum that are so important in electric cars and infrastructure in general. Gold and silver are a hedge against inflation which is upon us (no matter what Powell says.) The biggest investment for the future will be in water conservation and purification. These are areas that will be seen as necessities in the coming years. However, people who manipulate these markets will continue to do so.

The very end of this month, Mars goes into Virgo, joined by other planets in Virgo as we go into August. This is a health care sign and more fears will be generated about COVID or some other infectious disease. It will also create a more “realistic” spin to the stock market. This is enhanced by Jupiter’s retrograde position back into Aquarius. Entertainment and sports industries will expand this month. I would be cautious about the Olympics to be held in Japan since the transits in Virgo suggest more outbreaks. I will elaborate on this in the August newsletter.

The economic and infrastructure stimulus package Pres. Biden and the Democrats are working on lacks the necessary taxes on the very rich since the Republicans are insisting on avoiding this. Pres. Biden said he would not sign the infrastructure bill without adjacent legislation taxing the rich to pay for it.. He has since said he would sign it. It has been recently reported that the USA’s richest billionaires literally pay no income tax.

A friend of mine sourced an online article and sent it to me entitled “The Wealth Detective Who Finds the Hidden Money of the Super Rich.” ( https://get pocket.com/explore/item/the-wealth-detective-who-finds-the-hidden-money-of-the-super-rich ). In the article, two outstanding economists, Gabriel Zucman’s and Emmanuel Saez’s extensive studies on the economy reveal their latest estimates on the distribution of wealth. They show that the top 0.1% of taxpayers – about 170,000 families in a country of 320 million people – control 20% of American wealth and the bottom half of Americans combined literally have a negative net worth!

Zucman has also found that multinational corporations presently move 40% of their foreign profits, about $600 billion a year, out of the countries where their money was made and into lower-tax jurisdictions. He sees ominous signs in the rise of the far right – the threat that has preoccupied him since he was a teenager on the streets of Paris. Inequality, he says, paves the way for demagogues. The causes he’s identified for the widening gap in the US. are a host of policy changes that started in the 1980s: lower taxes on the wealthy, weaker labor protections, lax antitrust enforcement, runaway education and health-care costs, and a stagnant minimum wage. America’s skyrocketing wealth disparity, he says, reflects that “it’s also the country where the policy changes have been the most extreme.”

Science and Technology:

In the June 2021 Issue of Scientific American, an impressive article was published by Ashish Kothari, a founding member of Kalpavriksh, an environmental organization in India. It is entitled: “A Tapestry of Alternatives” directed at solving global inequities and poverty and massive environmental destruction. He states: “Making peace with the biosphere will require building communities and relationships that are focused on sustaining life – human and nonhuman.” Self-reliance, local organic gardening and farming using heritage seeds, and an environment in which people are at peace with one another and nature may enable us to walk away from “the cliff edge of irreversible destabilization of the biosphere.”

Globalized industrial agriculture using petroleum based fertilizers, the burning of fossil fuels, etc. we now all know is threatening life on earth. This article offers an alternative way of life that, as climates change and many nations’ environments collapse, may eventually become the norm.

Another article in this issue that is worth reading is entitled “The Brain Electric” by Christof Koch, the chief scientist of MindScope at the Allen Institute in Seattle. This article discusses and reveals information suggesting “electrodes that stimulate brain tissue reveal the topography of conscious experience.” I have referred in previous newsletters information about Elon Musk’s company Neurolink having released a video showing an electronically stimulated monkey playing the computer game, Pong, without any controller. As we march into the Age of Aquarius, research and development concerning the brain and the nervous system and their enhancement through various technologies will grow exponentially.

The Headline article in this same issue of Scientific American is entitled “Deadly Kingdom” by Maryn McKenna, a senior fellow at the Center for the Study of Human Health at Emory University. She reports:“ Killers of 1.6 million people every year, fungi; are emerging as some of the most lethal microbes on the planet – and we don’t really know how to stop them.” This is another overlooked and highly important area of infectious disease we need to address sooner rather than later!

All of you who have been following my books and newsletters know that I see Nuclear Fusion as the “Holy Grail” of energy, along with the development of the near perfect battery. Helion Energy (a fusion startup in Seattle) has recently received over $10 million in investment and Zap Energy, also a fusion startup located in Seattle has recently received $27.5 million. The billionaires are starting to take notice. I am of the opinion that multiple fusion installations will go online by 2026. This will effectively end the age of fossil fuels.

I have forecast in past newsletters that we are currently in a volcanic cycle. In addition of the Icelandic volcano that is still erupting, famous volcano Krakatau in Indonesia is currently erupting. This month’s inconjunctions of Pluto and Neptune to the Leo planets, suggest more of the same.

Final Thoughts:

The challenging times in which we are living and breathing are inhabited by all of us together – and fear lurks just below the surface in all our lives that we may not “make it.” I have seen and heard far too many people who have buried themselves in “conspiracy theories”, sources of accusations that many people they disagree with who are in power are murderers, child molesters, practitioners of the dark arts, lurking within vague accusations of evil – most of which are seen on particular sites on the internet.

Facts concerning these opinions are frequently absent. It is scarily easy for many of us to descend into this world of cults and Kool Aid drinkers, who trust these websites more than anyone who works for the government, the pharmaceutical corporations, medical doctors, and the press in general. The outlandish economic inequalities, environmental and climate collapses, and truly false information corporations have released in order to sell products and create profits at any cost have created a lack of trust and produced these understandable consequences.

It is arduous to figure out what the facts really are and many people lack the education or resources to sort all this out. To many, it is easier to “burn down” the institutions and destroy democracy (passing laws to stop people from voting or attack the Congress) than to simply delve into the situation responsibly and fix it. The French Revolution, the Communist Revolution in Russia, and the Chinese Communist Revolution are all illustrative of what can happen, i.e. replacing bad with worse!. Many of the Plutocrats here are so tone deaf to all this that all they can see is China’s giant economy, leading them to interpret our Western Democracies as irrelevant. I would ask: How many people are tying to get into China today? America is still the “hope of the world” to many who are escaping corrupt governments and collapsed environments in other nations. The big issue is: Will we live up to the ideals written into our Constitution and Bill of Rights, or will we fail?

Maybe I am a cockeyed optimist, but I think we have a real shot at success. The planets in Aquarius now and those we are moving forward into the future suggest a longing for self governance and democracy. These placements suggest promoting the idea of teamwork and friendship, working together and making use of our genius at mastering science and technology. We, however, cannot invent our way out of the economic and climate crises without respect for each other and a willingness to work together as a “team” invested in intelligent debate and mutual respect.

What resides spiritually within us is simply bigger and grander than anything else. Now is the time!

Blessings,

Gemini Attack: Deception compounded by confusion surrounded by distraction: (Mercury retrograde in Gemini square Neptune)

Living in the midst of multiple emergencies all crying for our attention has presented us with an array of choices – ramp up and get organized, shut down and crawl under the covers, or polish off a bottle of Scotch! …

We are swamped! The COVID virus, climate catastrophes, Washington at war with itself, and an economy swinging up, around and down again – all demand our attention when we are already just plain exhausted.

The first week of this month, we will be confronted with more cyber “hacks” into our infrastructure, storms with high winds, volcanoes erupting, earth tremors, and Wall Street wild fluctuations. The most preferred choice we may make is – crawling under the covers WITH a bottle of Scotch.

Former Pres. Trump, whose birthday is this month and is a Gemini, (June 14, 1946, Jamaica, NY, 10:54 AM EDT) will take major “hits” to his chart from the Solar Eclipse and from the Mercury/Neptune square, which could reveal events he wants to conceal. Last month, it was announced that his business is being investigated for criminal activity. His chart is stressed, but his personality (Mars on his Ascendant) thrives on fighting for the sake of fighting.

He continues to communicate his alternate version of reality (Neptune), but he has already been banished from Twitter and now, again, from Facebook. The Solar Eclipse on June 10 is conjunct his Uranus/Sun conjunction. By the end of this month, we may see what multiple investigations surrounding his finances, his past collaborations with Russia, and his involvement in the Jan 6 insurgency will all bring to light.

My axiom for finding the unvarnished truth at any time in history is “follow the money.” Trump is using wealth that is not his own (campaign contributions), coming in from behind the scenes (the 12th house) in order not to reveal where he has stashed his money.

The New York State Dept. of Justice currently investigating him are waiting till all their ducks are in a row before making the next move. Mercury goes direct on June 22 and the agencies that are investigating him will likely speak out at that time. Republicans in the Senate blocked a non-partisan investigation of the Jan. 6th insurgency that we all witnessed both live and on video.

Pres. Biden will have to sort out all the foggy information coming in this month about his expensive economic rescue packages and how the rich may be taxed to pay for it. He also wants to pass a bill that would reorganize police and law enforcement, holding them accountable for Racist attacks on people of color, following up on the George Floyd murder and countless other incidents. Republicans have been resisting and obstructing nearly all proposals from the Biden administration and confusion will be prevail this month. The job market still needs workers but many women are slow to come back into the workforce due to problems with child care. Gemini is one of the signs associated with immigration. Mercury retrogrades square Neptune (confusion) right on the Mars/Neptune square in the US chart swamping this area. Vice President Harris is managing this department. Her Ascendant is in Gemini, thus, she will be in the forefront.

Last month, Biden was also challenged by the violent conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. He, with the help of Egypt and Jordan, have negotiated a ceasefire that will likely come into question this month as afflicted Mercury goes retrograde. The chart of Israel is filled with conflict, connected to the Saturn/Uranus square, that will get worse this month as transiting Mars goes into Leo June 12th and will be in the sign until July 28th, activating their Taurus/Leo squares. The transit of Saturn in Aquarius will force a reorganization of their government and new policies with respect to their borders. The era of the Netanyahu government may be coming to an end.

Another nation whose chart is activated for the next two years is Russia. The Biden administration is currently meeting with the Russian administration. Russia has already installed multiple military bases surrounding the Arctic and is beginning to monopolize new shipping lanes in the melted Arctic Sea to transport oil and gas. They are also tapping into the methane gas that has been released in the great glacier melt. The other nations surrounding the Arctic, who are our allies, are threatened and this could lead to serious conflicts.

Biden is being challenged by the policies and practices of Chinese Pres. Xi Jinping who has ended Democracy in Hong Kong, repressed and enslaved ethnic groups within its own nation, disputing its border with India, and seems to be returning to the policies of the Mao Communist Government of the Cold War. Many nations throughout the world are now protesting China’s policies, further isolating them from global trade. The astrological chart of China points to serious upheavals in their government between now and 2026.

Since 2020, I have been forecasting severe weather events and “hacks” into our infrastructure. Last month, out biggest oil pipeline from Texas to New York Harbor was “hacked” and shut down. Water systems were attacked in Florida. We all remember when Texas lost its electricity, and its water pipes burst back in Feb. when extreme cold and snow hit the state. This month through the first week of July we will see more of these emergencies. It is commonly thought that Russia is behind this – as they were last December when our government agencies and many large corporations were hacked. With Mars in Leo, fires may break out in California and parts of the Western US.

I would recommend postponing long distance travel this month as there are unexpected events making it more dangerous. Mid to late July is a safer environment.

Better times are ahead:
I want to go on record with this heart felt statement. As tough as our times are today, I believe our future can and will likely be much better – even inspiring! By 2026, a celestial pattern of planets would suggest an age of great historic progress in technology, problem solving, and human endeavor never seen or envisioned before. As an astrologer, my job is to forecast issues, themes, and probabilities that are likely to express themselves in human life here on earth. This includes events that are dangerous or problematic, as well as great breakthroughs that lead to solutions. I am of the opinion that we are headed in the right direction. Remember that the darkness always precedes the dawn!

The Economy:
We have been witnessing the biggest expansion on Wall Street in our lifetimes. Last month, as I predicted, markets headed downward on fears of inflation, primarily caused by OPEC raising oil prices and the hack on the Texas oil pipeline. There may be more downward movement this month, especially in the first week of June. Confusion, false information, and unreliable sources will muddle the markets this month until Mercury goes direct on June 22.

The gap between Wall Street and Main Street has been growing for the past 40 years. Businesses do not want to hire people unless absolutely necessary and want to pay as little as possible, while they offshore their profits abroad. Even though hiring is increasing post-pandemic, corporations prefer the “gig” economy containing temporary workers. Washington will not be able to reverse this over night, but I give Pres. Biden a plus for trying.

The problem at this time is getting a clear pathway forward that is understood. Small businesses, the life’s blood of our economy, are afraid of paying higher taxes when Biden has made it clear that small enterprises and those making under $400,000 a year will not pay more in taxes. He is clearly targeting the billionaire class who benefited from the 2017 tax break. It will be huge businesses and very rich people that will pay more on their profits, capital gains, and inheritances. There are a growing number of billionaires who are actually agreeing with this assessment, since the economic gaps between the rich and everyone else is enormous and detrimental to the health of the economy.

Over the past 40 years, the “financialization” of the economy has shifted risk from original companies (who used to take on the initial investment risk themselves) to their stockholders, creating huge risks to the whole economy when there is a significant crash or “correction,” and prolonged recession. The money has gravitated into giant hedge funds and invested retirement accounts and away from salaries and savings accounts. This has been made even riskier by the appearance of the SPACS. In addition, huge debt obligations assumed by these corporations that are currently controlled by historically low interest rates put more people than ever at risk. We are all far too familiar with the debt obligations taken on by the Federal Government. The majority of Americans have little or no understanding of these complexities and frequently do not know which political candidates do or do not support these policies. Sorting all this out this month will be a monumental task.

Big news last month was that AT&T has merged Warner Media (who owns CNN) with Discovery and then is divesting itself of both. This is an unusual move, but points to a lack of will on the part of AT&T to deal with the consequences of their buying all this in the first place. On the other hand, giant monopoly Amazon is apparently has made a deal to acquire MGM Studios for $8.5 billion – $9 billion that would be the biggest deal since they bought Whole Foods in 2017 for $13.7 billion.

Science and technology:
We now all are informed about the serious chip shortage that is due, in part, to our trade sanctions on China. The world’s largest manufacturer is TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Mfg. Co.) stationed in Taiwan, the island China is trying to reclaim as its own, and the US is pledged to defend. The US is only the second largest producer of chips. Now, Intel has started the process of making moves to make chips in Europe. The US needs to expand its chip manufacturing capacity here at home. We need to disentangle ourselves from China in general. Fortunately, Intel has also announced it will spend $20 Billion to build two new chip plants in Arizona, which definitely moves us in the right direction.

It was reported on New Scientist that huge amounts of Mercury are being released from Greenland’s melting glaciers, into the rivers. Mercury is a very dangerous toxin that can damage the brain and nervous system. This is only one of many “devils” being released by the Great Arctic Melt.

I have been forecasting increased volcanic activity in previous newsletters. The giant Icelandic Volcano continues to erupt at rates not seen in at least 800 years. There is a major volcanic eruption taking place in the Democratic Republic of the Congo sending people fleeing from the area. Recently, a large geomagnetic solar storm wave was released from the Sun, initiating a short solar maximum period when this solar activity will likely increase through 2025. These Solar Waves could severely disrupt our satellites and electrical infrastructure. Last month, news was released which reports that the longest and most severe drought in recorded history has hit the Southwestern US. This is a very intense and disruptive cycle under the heading “natural events”.

It was reported on Live Science that the first genetically modified mosquitoes, after successfully been released in Africa, have been released in the US. The firm, Koxitec, has modified male mosquitoes so that when they mate with females, they release a toxin. The hope is that they will become extinct. The number one killer in the world is malaria, which mosquitoes carry and effects the most people in tropical locations. Mosquitoes all carry the Zika virus, various forms of encephalitis, and other deadly diseases. This is a major medical breakthrough.

Mercury’s transit in Gemini, ruling the brain and nervous system, suggests there may be helpful and productive new research in this field. In the May Issue of Scientific American, reporters Daniela Kaufer and Alon Friedman write: “Leaks in the protective blood-brain barrier may lead to Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Reversing the damage makes aging animal brains look young and healthy.” They announce that a new drug that was previously used in cancer therapy, has been discovered to reverse this inevitable damage. Another article contained in this same issue is entitled “Age of Opportunity” which reports: “A refined understanding of the adolescent brain could lead to improvements in education and mental health.” This is especially relevant with the multiple failures of our society to educate and inspire our young people who, too frequently, are abandoned by parents, live in borderline poverty, and are molested at ages that leave them permanently scarred. The growing incidence of teen obesity, drug addiction, and suicide deserves our attention!

Final Thoughts:
Many of my clients ask me what to do when Mercury goes retrograde and I usually reply – that they should avoid starting new projects or signing important legal documents during this transit. On the positive side of this, I find that it is a favorable time to review, reorganize, and, most of all, reflect on the decisions you have made and what you have learned. Valuable information may come your way that you may have overlooked in your haste to just get the job done!

Contemplation and critical thinking have been discouraged in our crazy sound byte world that inundates us with information that may be misleading or outright fraudulent, released only to push products and make enormous amounts of money at the top of the “food chain.” Even worse, we are flooded with information coming in about the terrible collective fates of so many nations whose citizens are dying from the virus, whose natural environment is devastated, whose economies are broken, and whose criminals seem to have taken over their fates.

It is up to us – to walk quietly in the parks, around the shores and waterways, and experience amazement and inspiration in the glory of nature. It is up to us to find a silent room in our homes to meditate, visualize, create, and quietly get in touch with the miracles in store for us in a universe of information we barely comprehend. There are inspiring books, paintings, films, and songs that are still being written, shown and heard. These are now safer times we may spend with our cherished families and friends – who we now understand mean everything to us.

It is time to look upward at the amazing starry constellations that foretell our collective fates and hold a promise – that we may choose to re-create our lives within a sphere of light, love, and hope!

Blessings,

The Saturn/Uranus square – (within orb Feb. 16 through Dec. 27th 2021.)

Two Steps Forward – One Step Backward

SATURN is a planet whose concerns gather around structure, awareness of consequences, order, limitation, authority, frameworks and clarity of purpose. URANUS is often the “bad boy” who rebels, overthrows, invents, thinks out of the box, and takes the leap of faith into the realms of uncertainty, willing to risk the consequences. If these two guys decide to work together, nations create an effective infrastructure that serves civilization for future advancements and a shared prosperity for all.

When these two decide to resist each others’ agendas, the effect is like putting on the brakes and the gas at the same time, shredding the mechanics of the vehicle. The looming question is: will we fix it or shred it?

Politics:

As we already know, the Biden Administration is proposing a giant infrastructure legislative package designed to fix roads, highways, water, electric lines, and includes child and elder care, and internet access for all. So far, there has been no public acknowledgment that we need to develop and work with nuclear fusion, my personal “favorite”. More widespread support for this awaits us in the future.

Biden plans to pay for this by dropping tax breaks for the oil and gas corporations and reducing the enormous tax breaks for billionaires and corporations enacted by the Trump Administration. He will not raise income taxes on people making up to $400,000 a year. He is promoting the “idea” of increasing capital gains taxes and clamping down on the practice of corporations and individuals “outsourcing” profits to nations that are tax exempt. Many CEOs of corporations and banks, to a degree, are on board with this and are negotiating with the administration as to the percentage amounts. They are finally recognizing the widely destructive effects of extreme inequality on the nation as a whole. Republicans have taken the position of rejecting any legislation originating with the Democrats.

The Saturn/Uranus square, combined with Mercury in Gemini square Neptune and going retrograde the end of this month is likely to stall the momentum, even as more extreme weather events destroy more infrastructure (as we experienced in Feb. in Texas). In addition, we may uncover more hacking into corporate and government data (Mercury retrograde square Neptune) similar to what was exposed last December. Confusion and uncertainty will create a “wobble” in financial markets. I do not see clarity in all this until the end of June, when Mercury goes direct.

The guilty verdict in the Floyd case is a “beginning” in the current movement for racial justice in the US. It was announced that three other police officers will go on trial in August. Meanwhile, there are more police shootings of young black people, more mass shootings of innocent people by arguably “crazy” disgruntled men all over the country, all of which is forcing us to look at our nation squarely as to who we really are! The reform of police departments, gun reform, all seem to come together and these issues continue to present themselves this month, as Mercury goes back and forth over the US. Mars/Neptune square. We seem to be shooting each other either legally or illegally! The questions swarm around legislation or the lack of it. Frankly, I do not see real legislative reform enacted in this direction until Saturn in Aquarius is trine (supportive of) the US Mars in April of 2022.

Meanwhile, Trump and his minions continue to take a wrecking ball to the traditional Republican Party. For the first time, the corporate and banking giants, who have usually supported Republicans, are making public their resistance to new voter restriction laws, specifically the one enacted in Georgia. This is the “bottom Line” in politics. Without money, election victories are a distant memory. Trump’s false claim that he won the 2020 election still has resonance with his supporters, as he collects money from them on an ongoing basis and online “extremists” continue to simmer with anger and rage. Law suits against Trump will escalate this month, through early July, including the government’s investigation of his finances and tax returns. On June 10th, there is a Solar Eclipse conjunct Trump’s cluster of his North Node, Uranus, and Sun pointing to serious problems for him.

Immigration:

Pres. Biden has designated Vice Pres. Harris as the person to take on a major role in this most difficult problem. Without legislation to reform immigration laws, all they can do is limit or amplify numbers of people allowed into the nation. There are people already approved for entry into the nation from Europe, Africa, and Asia who have been held up because of the “freeze” on numbers, due to the attempt to stem all the “illegal” people coming in at our southern border from Central and South America. Gemini and Sagittarius are specific signs that rule this area. Mercury retrograde in Gemini square Neptune will only confuse and worsen the conflicts around this issue that are are particularly intense between now and July.

The Economy:

Growth, prosperity and a Bull Market is the name of the game early this month as Venus in Taurus is sextile Neptune and trine Pluto in the first week of May. Real estate sales will continue to grow as the Feds will not raise interest rates since unemployment will still be high. Many jobs lost in the pandemic will not return until small businesses regain traction and the infrastructure bill that will create millions of jobs is passed. The market has become too expensive. There will be less certainty, in general, generating fears around markets the last week of this month as Mercury is square Neptune and goes retrograde.

Education reform is badly needed in the US. Young people with recent college degrees, who have incurred massive debts that paid for their education, are finding it difficult to find employment. Our higher education system, in many ways, is still living in the 19th Century and not training people for the actual job market. More and more jobs are being eliminated by automation, which may be the biggest problem in the US and throughout the industrialized world.

What can we do?

If you are tech inclined, specialize in cyber security that will be an enormous growth area as we are fighting big hacking by Russia and China and various criminal cartels. Even if you graduate at the top of your class in finance and are hired by one of the big banks, they literally “work you to death” (as has recently been reported) in 100 hour a week jobs at minimal pay. As I have suggested in other newsletters, county and/or community colleges could offer an Associate Degree with a specialty in the trades (licensed plumbers, electricians, and builders) and courses to train people in business skills designed for entrepreneurship. People could get jobs in the national infrastructure rebuild at a decent wage. The Biden administration is currently talking with various coal and mining companies about helping them financially to close down and clean up their operations, and use government funding to re-educate their work force for jobs in clean energy. For the first time, they are listening.

I also think communities should think about investing in revamping real estate that will no longer be needed by shopping malls or office buildings. Many more people will telecommute from home, not needing to go into these offices. Because of online shopping on Amazon, malls have been declining and closing all over the nation. These ensuing abandoned locations could be used for low and mid income housing. I have often recommended to my clients whose charts support it and have the space, to buy a home with an apartment above their garage or in the basement to produce income that helps pay the mortgage.

Interestingly, the movie that won the Academy Award for best picture, best director, and best actress was “Nomadland”, which was based on a biographical book written by a woman who lost her husband, had little or no financial security, so set out in her van traveling over the nation’s highways, living in her vehicle, getting work wherever she could, and meeting others in a similar situation. They formed warmly supportive communities, gathering around fires, and helping each other to survive. Millions of people in the over-60 age group have no retirement, no savings, and only have their Social Security checks. It is a reminder of the epidemic of homelessness in this nation and the lack of wealth possessed by the 90%. It evokes memories of destitute men who hitched rides on American railroads during the Great Depression of the 1930s, cooking over campfires in the rail yards. History rhymes!

The Economic Giants:

I think we need to understand that US corporate giants and banks dominate the so-called global market place. They will do nearly anything to avoid taxation, which would help most people have an effective infrastructure and opportunity in a job market that these entities are looking to eliminate. They are monopolies that have “strong armed” competition out of existence. They have created the greenhouse gasses that are destroying the stability of climates throughout the world and the mountains of plastics that are destroying the ecology of our oceans.. Until the people who run or control these economic giants “see the light”, the majority of the human population will continue in an economic decline and climate catastrophes will continue to increase. There are a few billionaires who are beginning to comprehend this and seem to want to do something about it. China is the giant that is now competing with all this, creating a new “cold war” of territories and economies. As a nation, we need to face these facts. We need to envision new economic paradigms.

Foreign Relations:

Russia and The Ukraine – Ukraine’s chart (Dec. 1, 1991, 8:00 PM EET, Kiev, 30E31 50N26) contains heavy transits in Aquarius in their 7th House (enemies and borders) square their Natal Pluto in Scorpio. Russia’s chart is also being heavily activated with their squares (conflicts) between Aquarius and Scorpio. Russia has essentially no economy but oil and gas and wants to dominate pipelines and waterways that transport it. Recently, Putin has pulled back some of these troops on this border, even though relations are getting worse as they continue to build up a military presence there, challenging Ukraine’s alliance with the US. I have predicted crises with Russia in past newsletters and think this is very serious. Russia’s prior poisoning and suppression of dissenter Navalny who exposed Putin’s massive hidden wealth and corruption, and is at death’s door, has been a public relations disaster for Putin. However, Putin, now an absolute dictator, still has a lot of support, especially among those older citizens who remember the collapse of the Soviet Union and their economy. They view him as having made their country stronger. Although Russia renewed the nuclear disarmament treaty with the US., there are indicators they are still developing scary weaponry, as is the US.

China – Since the end of WWII, the US has supported the independent democratic government of Taiwan. Since the 1990s, many of our largest technological corporations have been manufacturing their chips there. China is now declaring, once again, that this island nation belongs to them. There is a serious danger that conflict may be at hand here. Major defense technology company, Raytheon, is receiving both private and public support for the weapons they are developing. This sends out a signal that we are ready for a military engagement.

Myanmar – The violent takeover of the military government there has resulted in thousands being shot down in the streets and chaos throughout the nation. I think that nations in the areas surrounding this country may come together to put pressure on the military government to restore sanity. China is providing them with weapons. The situation is dire. This needs to be addressed.

India – The Saturn/Uranus square is hitting the chart of this nation. Prime Minister Modi released the restrictions and shutdowns in his nation so he could expand his political campaigns. This was a deadly mistake. Over the years, India has not invested in its public health system and the majority of its population is very poor. The top economic tier of their society has not helped the nation as a whole. As as result, there has been a surge in COVID cases so great they have run out of hospitals, oxygen, vaccines, and even burial grounds. Pres. Biden recently announced he will send anti-viral medicine and vaccines to help out. Crises will continue to escalate here through the end of July.

Iran – Biden’s declared attempt to go back into the nuclear treaty signed during the Obama Administration will run into confusion this month and into June as Mercury retrogrades back and forth square Neptune. This will not resolve itself easily.

Afghanistan – We will continue to draw down troops there, but the presence of Neptune in this nation’s chart leaves us with confusion and no real assurance that the Taliban will not take over the government.

Science and Technology:

It was recently reported that Regeneron, an anti-viral medicine is effective against COVID. It has also been reported that 80% of our people over 65 years old (the highest risk group) have received vaccinations. The temporary halt of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine due to blood clots that appeared in 15 people, is being lifted. There are still fears around being vaccinated, but most people will move ahead this month to immunize a larger percentage of our population. I am concerned about the emergence of a new infection (connected to the transit of Mars in Virgo) that may present itself between August and September. Anti-virus medicine that may be more generally effective against a variety of virus, will take on more importance and research will grow and develop in this field.

The US now has a helicopter on Mars that is surveying the landscape and collecting invaluable information. Our space programs (Space X combined with NASA) will lead us into the Age of Aquarius with flying colors!

Weather:

The last week of May through the first week of June, Mercury goes retrograde and is square Neptune. This points to high winds and serious storm activity. It is not a good time to travel by air, so make your plans accordingly. There also may be increased volcanic activity since afflictions to Neptune seem to point to these events.

Final Thoughts:

These are not ordinary times. Business as usual is not working. Too many of our historic coping mechanisms that have been crafted through the ages, including some religious beliefs, political ideals, and even modern psychological practices, do not resonate with many of us today. It does not mean that these systems within themselves have not worked in the past or lack validity. In my opinion, this means that the enormous globally spreading multiple of emergencies and the information that comes flooding toward us cannot be addressed with, as the Bible says,”Old Wine Skins”.

Nobody can do this alone. We are on a trajectory that requires a grand evolutionary leap in knowledge, wisdom and understanding – and we need to join hands and hearts together to do it. Hate will destroy us. Respect will unite us. Love will save us.

Blessings,
